Cowboys’ VP Stephen Jones On Free Agents, Cap Space & More
http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/ar...dium=twi tter
Are you satisfied with where you are currently on the cap and what you’ve got to do before March 12?
Jones: We’ve got some restructuring but that’s not even the point. The restructures are built in. We don’t have to negotiate a restructure. All the deals we’re doing are structured in there so it’s more just meet the guys, tell them what we’re thinking, tell them what we’re going to do. Everybody’s making a big to do about this. I don’t know why.

Is it safe to say Felix, Jenkins and Ogletree are all gone?
Jones: I never say never on anything but I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a high chance they’ll be back. But we’ll see.
Good riddance Felix

I wouldn't be surprised if Felix is out of the NFL in 2013. I think he was that bad last year. When you're a situational speed back who's lost his speed and not a natural receiver out of the backfield, there's not going to be a lot of use for you. I think we had one legitimate NFL runningback on the roster last year, and he was hurt for over half the year.

I posted last year that these contracts have built in restructures so that the team doesn't even have to get the okay from the player or his agent and I got my you know what reamed. I knew it was true because I heard Stephen say it before. They know exactly what each player is going to cost each year and they write the contacts in such a way that they can lower the cap hit without any input from the player. They just give them the cash upfront and prorate it. What player is going to complain about that anyway? The team doesn't view themselves as $20 million over the cap because they know exactly which deals they will restructure and how much room that will create.

Yeah, I don't think people understand the concept of the Time Value of Money.

I think some of those hc that like him during the draft may give him another chance... league minimal on a one year deal though.

I need to add this part to my sig. Every year, people fret and fuss over the cap and how Dallas can't afford to do this or has to cut that. Apparently, no one believes Stephen Jones when he says the cap isn't an issue.
"'Room' always makes me chuckle. That's irrelevant. What we have on a given day really doesn't relate to what you're ultimately going to have and how you're going to manage."

lol.. yup. Go fumble and smile about it on some other team. Or go show up out of shape for training camp some where else. Seems like posters were defending him like crazy last year on this site too. So glad Ogletree is out of here too. He has to be one of the worst WR's I have ever seen. No brains at all. Oh, and I won't miss "commercial break" Jenkins either. When they come back from commercial breaks he is always on the sidelines holding his shoulder, or wrist, or hamstring, etc.
Time to weed this team from some of the weak minded players. Hope they get rid of Sensablow too.

I laugh at the people who slam a player and talk crap about a player. Those fools can sit behind their computers and run their mouths yet there is not a chance in hell they could even perform at half the level a bench player or backup plays. I find it rather funny that they call them "stupid" "dumb" "slow" or whatever the flavor word of the day is. Funny that these guys can run their mouths about a player being hurt or coming into camp out of shape. Like the team doctors or coaches weren't aware that 2 of the players had major shoulder surgery. Unreal Monday Morning couch Gm's. Give me a break I wish whatever player is gone the best and good health moving forward.
RIP #53 Jerry Brown
If you talk the talk you better walk the walk! Go Cowboys!!! Love the 2013 draft!!

It's called perspective and stop trying to deminsh a player just because they may not be with the team anymore. It's laughable really, and all the tough guy talk comes from the weakest people, and yes you can call the truth garbage all you want.

lol Know the perspective then. People who say another player stinks or needs to go are basing it in relation to the pro level, not their own. Any time you bust out 'xyz pro is better than you', you've already lost at whatever point you were trying to make.
