Jets | Felix Jones could be option
Jets | Felix Jones could be option

The New York Jets could show interest in Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent RB Felix Jones this offseason if he is willing to accept an inexpensive contract.

I was on the fence with Felix Jones & Rashard Mendenhall during the draft. But it looks like neither player really materialized.

Best of luck too him, he teased us with his potential in between injuries. If he can ever stay healthy and gets a semi competant line he might be ok

I was a HUGE Chris Johnson fan before the draft, then he lit up the football world and i felt vindicated. He hasn't done much lately but he still would have been a much better pick in hindsight.

We picked a bad year to go RB so early.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

I wish him the best. I think if he can come back to his usual self he would be a nice pickup for the Jets. I think he just needs a change of scenery.

The thing is "having not done much lately" for Chris Johnson still means - 1000+ yards all 5 seasons
- last year's down year" was 1245 yards rushing , 4.5 ypc
- >4.7 ypc for career
- never missed a game in 5 years
All of this with a guy who faces a totally stacked line against him each weak because his team is below average (sometimes terrible) at throwing it.
Peterson is the only one who faces more loaded boxes than Johnson.
Having said that, Ray Rice was was awfully good value for Baltimore in that draft.

Im sure Felix like the idea of going from the 31 ranked rushing attack to the 12th ranked. Better OL to run behind why wouldn't he.
Adrian Peterson: Playing in the NFL is like "modern-day slavery"

A healthy Felix could be fairly successful.

A healthy Felix behind a line that could get him some room would be more then fairly successful, problem is he's never healthy

would've all been negated had we not been stupid and picked Steven Jackson instead of trading back and grabbing Julius Jones. Not like the extra pick we used to get Spears was all that vital either.
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore

I would be surprised if Felix is even in the NFL next year. He was awful last year.

Despite labeling myself a "realist", no one understands my pain or appreciates my special truth. Stupid world.

yes I would have liked to have had Chris Johnson doing that in Dallas. There is just one small, tiny, sort of important problem with that thought.
In Tennessee he was the man. The starter. The guy who carried the load.
For his first 2 years here he wouldn't have been because of Barber and then likely Dallas would have continued the 2 runningback system they've been keeping for the most part till Murray proved he could carry the load.
Would that have changed sooner with Johnson? Possibly. In his third year he might have been given the reigns and blown the world up and all would have been well but for his first two years, as a spot player, people would have been angry that he wasn't living up to a 1st round selection.
