Default Browns Sign LB Paul Kruger

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter
Browns reached agreement in principle on a five-year deal with Paul Kruger.

Another guy some that some fans thought the Cowboys might be interested in. The Browns actually have a lot of talent on that team. If they can get some good QB play this year, I think they'll be a surprise team.

Also, Ravens seem to be content with that Super Bowl. Their team is falling apart, especially if they let Ed Reed walk.

There are actually interesting moves happening I honestly thought this was going to be a relatively slow day.

The Browns reach agreement with former Ravens LB Paul Kruger on 5-yr/$40M deal. (via @AdamSchefter)

$8 mil a year. Not too shabby.

Cleveland is something like $40M under the cap and they sign ... LB Paul Kruger. It must really suck to be a Cleveland Brown fan.

It wouldn't surprise me if Cleveland drafted RB Eddie Lacy with its top pick in the draft.

So we know what the top pass rush LB (Kruger) in FA is worth. Next the top pass rush DE (Cliff Avril)

Once that's determined, probably soon, expect Spencer's deal to be worked out.

Wasn't Kruger a part time/rotational player for the Ravens? I don't know, I'm probably in the minority, but that seems like an awful lot to pay . . . .

You're right, they should have gone out and gotten that other proven 3-4 pass rusher since they are making the switch from 43 to 34...

Wait what?

Paul Kruger agrees to $40 million deal with Browns
Posted by Darin Gantt on March 12, 2013, 4:51 PM EDT

APThe Browns put their pile of salary cap room to use quickly Tuesday, signing Ravens outside linebacker Paul Kruger to a five-year deal worth $40 million, according to multiple reports.

The 27-year-old pass-rusher will be the centerpiece of new coordinator Ray Horton’s defense, and has the double benefit of taking away a key player from a division rival.

Kruger had 9.0 sacks in the regular season to lead the Ravens, and adding 4.5 more in the playoffs, setting the stage for his payday.
