Default The only think that can save this franchise...

is getting lucky in one of these future drafts and landing the right QB. We saw it with Skins - who were destined for eternal misery with little Danny boy at the wheel. Dallas now finds themselves in similar situation. But does Jerry Jones have the stones to make that gutsy call and select QB maybe next year in first round? I think there are too many holes to fill one at a time. What needs to happen is young dynamic QB needs re-energies the entire team and lead them in a way that hasn't happened since Aikman left. I would really hate to see this playout each year with Dallas finishing .500 and skins challenging in playoffs each year. Maybe its time for Jerry to have moment of clarity and alter horrific path this team is set on. You let Romo play out his contract and franchise for one more year if you need. But there absolutely should be movement to QB in draft rather soon.

I am queasy about giving romo a big contract during the declining stages of his career hope we are not strick with a fitzpatrick situation of having to cut him after two years.

I think you can say that about every franchise not currently going deep in the playoffs consistently. That said using the Redskins as a great draft example for getting RG3 is really baseless considering that he was the Heisman winner and was projected as the #1 or #2 draft pick. When you draft in the top 10, you don't get lucky. You either get a great player or you blow it based on that player's performance. In other words, betting on a 40 to 1 long shot yields two result options with a win being lucky and a loss being expected. Betting on a 2 to 1 sure thing and winning is expected where as losing would be unlucky or failure.

The QB is the only thing keeping this clown coaching staff employed.

Try again.
The Dallas "Football" Cowboys a team where everyone is accountable*.

Exactly.

And the Skins didn't "get lucky" with RG3. They had a real coach who knew what the was looking at and what he needed, and then took a huge risk in giving up a lot of resources to move up and take the right QB.

The way the OP has a JG av and constantly bashes Romo, it's so obvious he's just hoping Romo is the problem so another QB can ride to Garrett's rescue. That or hoping that wandering in the wilderness looking for another QB like we did post-Aikman will buy Garrett more time.

There is only ONE thing that can save this franchise, most of you know what that is. However we ALL know that ONE thing will never happen

Cmon. Everyone knew that their were two, consensus, franchise qbs in last years draft. Luck and RGIII. That is lucky, because that hardy ever happens in the draft. And what about the possibility of RGIII's greatest asset, his legs, being diminished after two ACL injuries in 3 years? And your saying Garrett is not a real coach. Go look at Shannahan's record without Elway and RGIII. Its not very impressive.

I agree with you to a point with Shanny,( thats any coach without any talent at QB ) but I bet you if he had Romo as his QB he would have this team in the postseason

Uh, yeah. One, the Skins weren't picking #2 last year. They had to trade a LOT to get up there to make that pick, which isn't luck.

And two, if Shanahan had Romo, he wouldn't have to make a move like that. Nor would he be picking at #5 in the first place.

Purely speculation on your part. Shannahan had Jay Cutler, who is a franchise qb. How did that work out?

My problem would be that any new QB would need a decent OL to be successful, so why not get one for the QB we have right now?

We've drafted two QB in the last 21 years, while every other team has drafted at least five.
