Default Merriman to holdout

NFL Network reported that Shawne Merriman hired new agent Kevin Poston and would be holding out unless the Chargers changed the injury clause.

I am liking Ware better and better each day.

Think the Postons might be gunshy about injuries these days?

Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

You should be a little bit more specific, they reported he will be holding out of mini camps, because they aren't satisfied with the structure of the injury agreement that draft picks sign to participate in mini camps. It just ensures they get a contract equivalent to what they would receive healthy if they are injured in mini camps.

You've got to be kidding me!!! Now rookies are holding out fresh out of college at the behest of an agent. Jeez.... I know of an agent or two that could use a good old fashioned U.S. Army blanket party. And right after they get what's comming to them, it's their clients turn.

Thank God we didn't take this greedy punk.

Thanks for the clarification. That's usually pretty standard language. I wonder what SD has differently in their contract.

I'm not sure, but I remember a cardinals draft pick did a very similar holdout because he wasn't satisfied with the language in the agreement. I think it was Wendall Bryant.

Default when will they learn

the Postons ruined Winslow carreer by holding him out and then getting hurt by playing with no training camp. and now they're doing the same with merriman. the humanity
"I could've done a $2 billion takeover (in another industry) with the capital I put in the Dallas Cowboys," he says. "I really could see (myself as) the idiot who had something real good, who blew it all to coach the Cowboys. I just knew that was going to be my legacy." Jerry Jones 9/14/2012

This is the very reason that BP didn't take Merriman.
It's all coming into focus now.
BP obviously caught wind of Merriman leaning to the Postons and said, "nope... not gonna do it."

Thank God for BP.

*hugs BP*

I really would be unhappy if we had to deal with cocky like that. Especially a rookie!
