Pre Training Camp predictions
Of course this is subject to change!
AFC East 1) Pats 2) Jets 3) Fins 4) Bills
Pats are definitely the team to beat...Jets should challenge for wildcard...Fins will edge out Bills for 3rd, as Bills will crash and burn with Losman at QB
AFC North 1) Bengals 2) Ravens 3) Steelers 4) Browns
Bengals D should be improved, their O will score alot of pts...Ravens will shut alot of teams down but will struggle to score...Steelers 15-1 season was proven to be a fluke in the playoffs last yr IMO...Browns will be one of the worst teams in football
AFC South 1) Indy 2) Jacksonville 3) Houston 4) Tennessee
I really wouldnt be shocked to see Houston win this division, as I dont feel any of these teams will be real strong...Indy has a swiss cheese D...Jacksonville reminds me some of the Ravens, will be good on D but struggle to score...Tennessee is going to be a poor team
AFC West 1) KC 2) San Diego 3) Oakland 4) Denver
KC wont be great but D should be improved enough to balance good offense...Oakland may score alot of pts but wont stop anyone...I see Denver falling flat on their face
NFC West 1) Arizona 2) Seattle 3) St Louis 4) SF
Arizona along with Minnesota and Dallas should be most improved team in NFC...9-7 probably wins this terrible division...SF might have te #1 pick again netx yr
NFC South 1) Carolina 2) Tampa 3) New Orleans 4) Atlanta
Atlanta will return to their losing ways...Carolina with solid D and run game should be good enough to win this division...if Griese replicates last years play with Tampa they could be much improved with real RB thread in C Williams...Aints will challenge Falcons for last
NFC North 1) Minnesota 2) Green Bay 3) Chicago 4) Detroit
Minnesota will run away with this division...wouldnt be surprised if Packers fell off the map (like Denver above)...if Grossman is healthy and improved the Bears could challenge for 2nd...Detroit, 3 awesome WR's...unfortunately no QB to throw them the ball
NFC East 1) Dallas 2) Philly 3) Skins 4) Giants
some will call it homering, but with all the contract issues Philly has along with having been on top for 4years or so now, its time for them to fall...I see them really struggling on defense this yr, but they will make the playoffs...Skins will be better than last yr IMO, though still a losing or .500 team...the Giants are sunk IMO...Manning is going to be a mediocre QB at best and they sacrificed alot o get him...he doesnt have much around him on offense at all..that leaves us, and nobody in this division improved as much as us...Bledsoe being better than last yr in Buffalo is key, as is the teams key players staying healthy...but the D should be vastly improved and capable of winning games, and along with a greta run game we should finish between 10-6 and 12-4 IMO...10-6 nets a wildcard, but 11-5 and certainly 12-4 would probably win the division

We will be 10-6 and a wildcard playoff team with that game being played at home.
WRITE IT DOWN!!!

My pix, probably off as usual but what the hey:
AFC East 1) Pats 2) Jets 3) Bills 4)Fins
Bills still have a solid defense like the fins. While Im not sold on Losman think Mcgahee will improve a bit and keep them one game over the fins
AFC North 1) Steelers 2) Ravens 3) Bengals 4) Browns
Disagree that steelers record was a fluke. Not saying they were a true 15-1 team but they still are the class of this division..by far IMO. Defense, running game. solid OL, and one of the top WR's in the game keep them on top. Rothlisburger might not get as many wins but still should improve. Bengals are still an 8-8 team imo but could still see them making noise
AFC South 1) Indy 2) Jacksonville 3) Houston 4) Tennessee
agree totally. Any chance JAX had of competing for the division went down w/ their pathetic reach in round 1. Tennessee has the heart but will be sorely lacking in talent
AFC West 1) KC 2) San Diego 3) Oakland 4) Denver
Tough one to call. Still think Oaklands horrible defense could land them in last place despite the obvious offensive upgrades. KC didnt get huge upgrades on defense but just enough to get them the division crown but SD winning it wouldnt be a surprise.
NFC West 1)Seattle 2) Arizona 3) St Louis 4) SF
What a sorry division. But I will take Seattle to edge out the cards by one or 2 games. Love the moves ARZ made in the offseason but they still missed out on the top 3 rb's in the draft and have major ? marks at qb. Martz is a complete idiot that might be gone by mid-season
NFC South 1) Carolina 2) Atlanta 3) tampa bay 4) n.o
another tough division to call w/ the enigma saints and the we-never-follow-a-winning season with a winning season falcons. vick will get xposed as a running only qb but they still should stay out of the cellar because of his legs and a decent defense but i agree a major nose dive would not be a shock. carolina if healthy is the class of this division. Haslett will be fired by november.
NFC North 1) Minnesota 2) Green Bay 3) Detroit 4) Chicago
Minny had a great offseason and pack lost 2 solid O-lineman. Detroit edges out Chicago based on the better offense, regardless of the QB, and a defense that is about even with them imo.
NFC East 1) Philly 2) Dallas 3) Skins 4) Giants
Philly still is the class of the nfc (and nfc east obviously) by far, even w/o Owens. I also would not be surprised to see Owens start week 1, regardless of all the negative news, which means they are that much better. They had a good draft (not as good as most gave them grades for but still a solid draft). Just too big a gap for any nfc east team to bridge after what i witnessed the past few yrs. Dallas (hope, hope) should be much improved. However, w/ or w/o Parcells to watch over him I am very nervous about Bledsoe. Still think our defense has some big ? marks regardless of FA and the draft. Skins and Gints both have below avg seasons but neither finishes worse than 4-12. Think WAS finished 6-10 and gints 5-11. If Manning makes a quantum leap a 8-8 season would not surprise me.

That is your prediction, I disagree with your predictions and some of your remarks.
First, I will agree with you on the 12-4 record for us, maybe even 13-3 or better.(I felt that we would have been 13-3 or at least 12-4 last season, if Jones had not released QC.)
The Colts defense will be significantly better, the Jaguars offense will be better. The Texans should be a lot better on offense, they should make the playoffs this season. (The Texans record will determine if Capers keeps his job).
The Lions will be a lot better on offense with an improved OL and the 3 WRs plus the running game. Harrington will show that he belongs as the starter of this team. Harrington has the talent and he can throw the ball, Rogers will stay healthy from now on. It is ridiculous how people now think that you can draft a young QB now days and expect him to just put a team on his back and carry them until they put other players around him.
Young QBs on the average, 99% of the time take 3, 4, or 5yrs to get the NFL down pat, it is a natural maturation process. Now if your team is like the Steelers were when they drafted Rothlisberger then your team and QB will do well until they reach the playoffs. Or maybe you can draft a Dan Marino, but serioulsy it takes youg QBs those years to get it down, example Brees, Carr and Harrington. (I was not surprised by Brees's success, I expected him and Carter to do well their 4th seasons, Brees got the chance and QC did not for whatever reason.
The Chargers finally have the other pieces around Brees that is why he finally shined and showed the talent he has.
The Steelers will have another stellar season, so you are wrong there.
Everyone will see immediately the results of the Pats losing both their coordinators.
GB will maintain, but that division will be in a 3 way fight with them the bears and the vikings.
Carolina will continue to fall, because they need a legit QB. I said by 2006 that, that guy (cannot think of his name now) will not be starting anymore, he may not finish this upcoming season as the starter.
Atlanta will not fall back to the bottom they will continue to dominate that division until Vick retires, they willbe even better.
I believe your prediction is more wishful thinking than a true prediction.

The raiders have the fastest secondary in football now. After drafting Fabian Washington, and that other really fast cb in the 2nd, along with charles Woodson. But they will still suck on D.

12-4 would be the best possible outcome for Dallas. That's if everything goes right. I'm going with 9-7 wildcard. I think we'll be playing tough once playoff time comes though.
