Chris Canty ?
During the Mini Camp it was reported that Chris Canty was supposed to see the Dr. for his Eye the first or second week of May Does anyone know if he actually saw (no pun intended) the Dr and if so how did the exam go?

he has to have some scar tissue removed.i don't believe he has done it yet,but it's fairly easy to do and totally normal.i figure he will be back by camp but won't be much of a factor till around the bye week.he has had the eye deal at the same time he is recovering from knee surgury so i suspect it will take some time to get back in game shape.but he has the potential to be a good one

i say that if hes not at 100% when time comes we should just put him on IR and wait for him untill next year because i think we are fine at DE with all of our guys, we need to just wait and see how it goes and then play him if hes at 100%.

I would put him on the PUP instead. IR means he can't play at all in 2005. That's too rash.

Bang on Hos. My big fear would be that we rushed him into the line because we know he's such a talent.Put him on PUP let him completly heal, then work him in via rotation.Every one keeps saying we got a huge steal picking him up in the 4th round. By letting him heal properly - with no rush, we may benefit from that gamble.Remember,he has 2 serious injuries, eye and knee, it's why he dropped in the draft. He will be a major player for us soon enough, just don't rush it and ruin him prematurly.

kiwi i dont think thats anywhere in our plans, but we woudl like for him to play this season, it will help our defense to continue to gel. I think when he heals BP will work his way into the line up, and continue to contribute untill he's ready to start next season.

he reminds me to "Too Tall". Look like he's got room to bulk up to be a 3-4 end. If he's anything like "Too Tall" we've got a bargain.

Hey DragonKing,I agree, By putting him on PUP, as apposed to IR, we can bring him along slowly, I'm all for that.I was responding to another poster saying to put him on IR. - I am sure the real football people know how to handle his situation,it's just that , seeing some of Jerry's coments after getting him,I hope Bill holds sway, and dos'nt let Jerrydo anything rash - like playing him to quickly. As you say, I don't think they will, but being SO excited about this off season and draft, I just hope they continue to make sound descisions...In Bill I Trust...

I don't think it would be an overstatement to say, he may be the best player we drafted this year.

The smart thing about doing that would be it open up a roster spot for someone else. The last of our cuts will be difficult and the ability to keep even one more player can't hurt.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

I don't think we have enough data to make more than a guess about his condition. Until we know more I think we just have to hope he can be ready to contribute this season at some point.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.
