The conversion is possible. A CB is sometimes better suited at safety, and vice versa (though less often). My point was that they aren't just interchangeable - you can't just take any CB and decide to convert him to safety. Too many people see a CB with average numbers and say "Hey - think about what he would do at safety!!!" It just doesn't work that way.

in 2003,Chavous had 8 Int's. Was that at CB, or FS? The guy can go after the ball. I wouldnt mind him, but im interested to see if one of the candidates we have can play.

The football equivalent of Brady Anderson hitting 50 HR's in one season. All of his other years his INT totals have been 2, 1, 1, 1, 3, 1.

Minnesota shelled out big bucks for upgrade at the position for a reason.

Despite labeling myself a "realist", no one understands my pain or appreciates my special truth. Stupid world.

I agree. Plenty do it. Some needed to be safeties period. Some lost a step or got too big and made the move. Others are just too aggressive yada to do it. I think in general it's easier to draft a safety and it be successful than convert someone but it's been done plenty of times before ala Waters and Woodson on and on.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

He was a safety in 2003 and was all world. Don't know if everything just worked out that year, he had an off year last year, was injured last year, or he's fading away.

I'd like to look at him though. Don't understand why the Vikings are letting him go and that bothers me some. Wish we had more info here.
