I think Aikman sneaks in first ballot. He was stud and won 3 SB, Is a good guy, articulate and doing well as a broadcaster. He's the player that will get ALL the bubble votes. Irvin the guy with character and off field issues that took him below bubble - JMO
Without NFL/Hall Super Bowl bias criteria you could actually build an argument against Troys career stats...
Emmitt, Allen - totally in and Aikman will as well for reasons stated above!

Larry Allen wearing one of those yellow blazers and giving a speech. That outta be fun.

I literally just woke people up in my house I laughed so hard at that. Thank you!
As for the topic, Allen is a shoe in for first ballot. He can't be denied, even those who dislike the Cowboys recognize that.
Irvin was never an obvious first ballot, and, if you want my opinion, I was very mildly surprised he even got on it. Aikman and Emmitt will also go first ballot.

I've read things about opposing players catching "Allenitis" before playing the guy. He just hurts people, and his prime, there was a reason he was considered the best OL in the game.
See Dis! I got boalls! Fahgettaboutit!

LA is a definite first ballot HOF. When he gets inducted, it will be interesting to see if he picks a family member or former teammate to introduce him. The only sad part about the day is that it will remind you that the other great O-lineman from Dallas is not in there, Rayfield Wright.

Rayfield Wright never gave up a sack...And is the only lineman on the all 70's team not in the HOF.
I would say have then entire HOF committee line up against Wright for one play and try to get to the QB. If they get by him, they can vote no.
My money is on Wright.
Be excellent to each other....

Absolutely right on here Nors. No way they don't put arguably the best tackle and guard to ever play into the HOF on the first ballot. Hell he's still all world 90% of the time.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

No way. Luckily Allen is playing during the Sports Center, 24-hour news, Internet Era. A wide audience has been able to see him play and there is no way he can be overlooked.
I always said that only Emmitt and Allen were locks. Everyone else may have a problem.

As bad as it sounds I wouldnt be surprised if they snub Aikman this year to.

we've had alot of snubs, but Allen is very arguably the greatest and most dominant OL in league history...he'll be a unanimous 1st ballot selection

It would be very sweet if Allan had Wright give his acceptance. It would never happen for several reasons, not the least of which would be the difficulty it would entail for Wright, but I would give a lot to see all those voters look Rayfield in the face knowing full well what they've done to him these many years. Would also be interesting to see how the rest of the HOFers treated that sito.

if Allen doesn't get in on the first ballot then the entire voting committee needs to be thrown out. There hasn't been a more dominating OL over the last two decades if not ever.

He'll get in, but the imperious writers have to get over this "first ballot" nonsense. This ain't MLB.

I agree with all of this...including the part about Aikman. Aikman is in because of his SB MVP, three SB rings, longevity, accuracy, and his playoff record alone. He never really had the gaudy stats like a Marino, but then again... he doesn't need them to get in.
