Good list. I agree except that I don't think Woody D. beats out Lynn Scott. Scott stays unless we bring in someone else to play FS; he may not beat out Davis for the starting job but he stays.
As for moving Thornton to FS; if I remember correctly Thornton is pretty slow andyou are going to need a little more speed than that at FS. Personally I never understood why we drafted him anyway. He couldn't even beat out Reeves and Nate Jones last year and barely made it on the field. Unless he can beat out Frazier (who I'm not crazy about either) he is gone and to do that he still has to beat out the other two guys he could not beat out last year.

Remember Dantzler has done nothing in NFLE, while Keith Davis lit it up last year in NFLE. That tells me all I need to know about Dantzler playing safety. I just don't see how there is a spot on the team for him. If Parcells hated cutting him the first time, I wonder how he will feel the second time around. I'm really pulling for Davis to be our FS. I liked his tackling and nack for being around the ball on ST last year. I really hope he can be the same type of player starting for us on D.
I just don't know what to think about Hunter. He has been a guy I've been pulling for the last couple of years, hoping he was a late round gem, but he is in lala land to be saying what he will and won't play. What has he done to think he can do that?
I think B Thornton gets a look because he was a 4th round pick who is still a complete unknown. I like Frazier, I just think he was in a little over his head last year. But as someone else mentioned he is scrappy. That is what I like about him. I think he'll get better too.
So that leaves Reeves and N Jones on the outside looking in. Neither of them lit it up last year, but I thought they had gained good experience which should be a help to them going into this year. I don't remember which one it was, but I know one of those two caught Parcells' eye by playing in something like 70 snaps against the Redskins. I think both played too much to be eligible for the practice squad.
What a difference a year can make. Last year we were playing guys off the street and another team's practice squad. This year we will probably have to cut people who will make other teams rosters.

Thorton was hurt, Reeves and Nate Jones didn't beat him out. Don't you need more speed at CB than FS ?
Be excellent to each other....

Thornton was not hurt until the third game and that was the first time he had made it on the field. Reeves and Jones both played the first two games while Thornton was inactive and sitting at home. And they were both active the day Thornton finally made it to the game and got hurt. So yes they did beat him out those first two games.
And yes you do need more speed at CB than at FS but I don't think Thornton can play CB in this league. Except maybe in the slot where it is more about quickness than speed and Thornton is reportedly very quick so he might could play there. Regardless of which position they try him at I doubt he makes the team...he just doesn't have that much talent.

Do you think we will see some of that Frazier talent this year? He would have to show alot to make up for last year...

I guess I'm the only one that thinks we're keeping 10 db's... 6 corners, 4 safeties.

What do you mean by that?
I thought Frazier played well considering he had no pass rush and no safety help.

Dallas should keep 4 Safeties, that leaves only 5 spots open...
1. Newman
2. Glenn
3. Henry
4. Fraizer
5. ?
Thorton, Hunter, Reeves or Jones?

Thornton gets another year on the roster IMO because he was a 4th round pick last year and was hurt.

Ok then maybe he was wearing thw wrong shoes. I'd see him slip and fall an awlful lot. unless you are talking about another frazier the cowboys had. I guess i am a little hard on him, but he was terrible. I am sure if he would of had the help he would of been better. He was great in college, maybe with the help this year he'll be better. We have Henry too, and Glenn. So he won't be out there like he was last year.

From a numbers stand point, it looks like there is going to be a promising DB or two cut.

I think Nate Jones and J Reeves did okay..they may even get the spot over Fraizer. Fraizer played cause he was there...dont let the last impression always win you over.
Cb will have some major competition in the depth department. We;ll most likely carry 5 of those and 4 safeties...but thats a guess nothing more.
