Glenn only has more then 70 catches twice in his 9 years in the league so I agree 70 is probably pushing it.
Glenn has averaged 51 catches and 14.6 per catch over his 9 years in the league.
Alot of them have been shortened by injury.
If you take 51 catches times 14.6 and you get 770 yards.
But when he stays healthy he is a 70 catch 1,110 yard guy.
It will all depend on his health.

I have access to Pats seats at the 15 yard line around 15 seats up. You are as close to the field with enough elevation to see it all. Terry Glenn separates as good as any Wide receiver I've ever seen live. Its insane, he has quicks, speeds, moves and just pulls away from defenders.
Its no suprise Parcells went and got him. Even if he's not a TO, ar an All Pro he's the kind of player that makes all around him better. He's that "physically" gifted on a football field.
If he and Bledsoe connect this year - be excited. That bears well for Jones and Witten as well!

I agree, Nors. She certainly has impressed me since she's been here.

Thanks for the recap CL.
BTW, no way Glenn gets 80 rec's this year.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

There will be two subplots:
1) Bledsoe will go to Glenn, did in past, working with in offseason. Manning/Harrison type deal.
2) Will Key get pissed? VT forced it to Key to detriment last year - and Key is NOT a separation guy.

What is scary is that.
Quincy Morgan has actually averaged more yards per catch then Glenn and less then 1 catch less a game over their time in the league.
Glenn when healthy can produce number but has rarely proven he can play 16 games. He has only done this once in his 9 years in the league.
They way to have Glenn last a full season is to have Morgan step up and share the load. But this of course would reduce his catches.

We had just over 1,000 offensive plays last year. Parcells wants balance which means 500 pass plays give or take.
60% completions means 300 passes completed.
With a young D and a trio of backs, we will be looking to control the clock, which means:
Option #1: Jones, Barber, A-train at least 30-35 combined carries plus another 5 touches on receptions. 520 rushes and 80 receptions.
Option #2: Witten, he got 87 last year so why would Bledsoe not throw to his new Coates? At least 75 catches.
Option #3: Key, he was our #1 WR and a chain mover in a ball control system. 70 Catches.
Option #4 Glenn.
We also have Morgan, Crayton, Campbell, and Copper who will combine for 50-60 catches.
80+75+70+55 = 280 receptions. Just where are the catches for Glenn going to come from?

I worry not about Morgan, Crayton, Copper,Campbell In fact 1 or at least two of that lot does not make 53 man.....
Glenn and Bledsoe will get reps and stats.
Reduce Key role big - he's pushing 35 and not the threat he used to be - off season surgery to boot..

LOL. You have such an issue getting ages right. Key is pushing 33. He's got awhile before he is pushing 35.
Why do you always blow age out of proportion to push your guy?
Glenn will be 31 about the same time Key is 33. Does that mean Glenn is pushing 33?

I'm not sure the # of catches for Glenn matters as much as the YPC.
The passing game will be set up by and large by the play action. When we look downfield, Terry Glenn is option #1.
*IF* everything goes as planned you may see him with a lower # of catches, but a respectable 16-18+ YPC.
Also I think Bledose will naturally look to Glenn before Key. They have a history together, and Bledsoe's reputation is to not look as much for the underneath guy (be that good or bad). Vinny forced a lot of stuff into Key last year, especially after Glenn went down. I don't see Bledsoe doing the same thing.

I think Bledsoe will look for Glenn and Witten more than Key, but remember VT started to force it to Key after Glenn went down. I think Key can find his place with Bledsoe, but we may get to see some fustration from him.

Are you 100%?
Ok, you've been playing catch with Bledsoe for a while now: How is he? He looks good to me. Of course, we don't have a defense right now, but he looks like he still has his fastball. He's got good WRs and a great TE here... He always loved Ben Coates in New England. With a good O-line -- and Bledsoe was telling me just a few days ago that he hasn't had many good O lines like this -- and the running back -- shoot, I don't even have to say anything about that -- I think he's set up to succeed.

I wont put too much stock in that. I remember last year when Vinny first arrived and started running offensive drills with the defense on the field, he told Parcells that had not seen a defense as fast as the Cowboys and good as the Cowboys defense.
