Without Glenn we have no wide receiver threat. He has been impressive and am happy to have him a Cowboy.

Thanks for that, CL.

Tonight in Total Access Mike Mayock did a little Bledsoe review (hasn't played that well in 3 and a half years, needs superior weapons and excellent protection, holds on too long, takes sacks, etc), and then went on to mention he thinks Bill will have DB playing "half the field this year", so he just won't get too stressed.

Dej vu all over again.

There isn't any receiver here who is going to get his due til a complete QB is under center, and even if Terry has some good history with Bledsoe, the 2005 version of DB has not just maxed out potential but been on the slide for some years.

It'll be interesting, but I don't see any receiver putting up Pro Bowl numbers except Jason. Coates was Drew's true go-to in NE, not Glenn, so that won't be any surprise if Bledsoe ends up throwing a lot more underneath stuff than folks think.

NORS, when did Vinny "force things" to Key? AFTER Terry got hurt, because VT then had to, but not before.

Well, I guess 1/2 the field is better than QC's 1/3. Boy, this team needs a QB. Hurry up, Henson.

Hey LTN, I actually saw that Playbook segment and you quoted him much nicer than the way it sounded. His tone seemed to suggest that Bledsoe was garbage. Wilcot put the spin on it that most people on here like to post to kinda bring a more positive outlook on the Bledsoe signing. Basically that BP will maximize his skill set.

Even so, it was pretty bleak to watch.

Yeah I did kinda soften it, WG..I mean, I don't want to get accused of being a Bledsoe Basher or anything.

Wilcots was right tho; Bill will maximize his talents. And a part of that has got to be limiting the area Drew has to read..shorter progressions....

Yep,I forsee a great year for my boy TG...too bad there is no Pro Bowl for decoys.

Most analysts seem to agree that if anybody can get anything out of Bledsoe then it's BP. So I'm willing to hang my hat on that and just go with it. Cuz he's here wearing the star, and there's nothing to do about it now.

I do think Glenn is going to have a nice nice year. I think with an improved running game, our offense will hopefully be able to produce at a nice nice level.

Too bad the stats say otherwise.

Thru 6 games:

Witten had 30 catches and 2 TDs.

Key had 27 and 2 TDs.

Glenn had 24 and 2 TDs.

RBs had 23 catches.

Bryant/Morgan had 20 catches.

Pretty much the breakdown I gave and that was without Jones running the ball.

77, Terry will always be the 'go-to' guy in the sense that he is currently the only receiver here who can provide consistent impact stretching the field. Even if he doesn't get thrown to, he's the only accomplished receiver who can keep the Ds consistently honest. Witten and Key are good possession receivers and both may end up with more receptions, but the ypc, and what speed brings to the O, is another story. That little playcard that Bill carries during the game, after all, has GLENN bolded at the top, or so said Chris Collingsworth in 03. Bill has almost as big a crush on TG as I do - he's not going to ignore him.

But just as Bill ceaselessly maintains there is no such animal as a "Number 1 and Number 2" receiver on his team, so does the "go-to" label suffer. If the O plays out like it did for Tuna in NE in 96, Bledsoe will be looking for Jason or Key to keep the chains moving, but off the play action JJ provides, he'll be looking to TG often enough. That's how Bill used Glenn, Coates, and Curtis Martin in the AFC Championship year, and TG ended up with 90 receptions as a rookie.

I kind of doubt Bill will be having Bledsoe throw as much as that year (it was one year when Tuna's beloved run-pass ratio fell on the latter side), but then again even if DCs have managed to see thru a lot of what DB is, Terry is also a MUCH more complete receiver than he was back then, when Z routes were his staple...those years he was forced into possession receiver duties did a lot for his game, his hands are still the benchmark in today's game and he runs precise routes..so I expect he'll be involved enough that once again Bill will be concerned about "resting him".

Overall, Glenn sounds extremely excited and ready to play... He reiterated that even though it's his 10th year, he's feeling as good as he ever has. Said Juraszic has really changed his body and he can't believe how good he feels.
Very Interesting. Terry Glenn is listed as 5'-11" 193lb. I'll argue when soaked he weighs about 190lb at the beginning of training camp. I think during the season Glenn plays at 180-185lb range.

I am looking forward to seeing how "little" bigger Glenn has got. I think back to Antonio Bryant from his rookie to 2nd year. He looked much smaller in year 2 but weighed 10-15lb more.

If Glenn was able to get into the 205-210LB range, doesn't lose speed, increased his strength and power,..... am thinking he's poised for a Pro Bowl year. Wr in that mold are usually unstoppable. Joey Galloway the size (197-205LB), speed and power. Donte Stallworth........200lb and blazing speed.

I always thought Glenn had chicken legs. If he's bulked up I'd suspect he's gotten much stronger legs. If Glenn and Morgan can provide a consistent deep threat, it will boost the starting QBs confidence and open up the game for Witten, Key and most importantly Julius Jones.

These guys don't exactly sell the point you are trying to make. I think of a lot of words to describe them, but unstoppable would be far down the list. I think Glenn is better than those two.

I am a Cowboys fan, I have for the most part come to trust in Bill, but I will never believe that we don't need another serious wr, these two guys will never make the whole season and the playoffs, when they went down last year the passing game became a joke and JJ couldn't do it without a passing attack. I can understand that the wr we wanted-Williams got taken a pick above us, but I'm telling you even more tha safety this area of the team needs another veteran and I'm not talking Jerry Rice but someone who is NFL caliber receiver, if nothing else for depth, we are so thin at wr, if people can't see that they are crazy, these guys are just plain old like me...
