Back in the late 70s, when rivals (i.e. Redskins, Eagles) wore their white jerseys at home to somehow jinx the Cowboys, fans asked why the Cowboys wore white at home instead of the traditional color jerseys most NFL home teams wear. I recall hearing that in the 60s and 70s, Landry wanted the team to wear white, cooler jerseys in the Texas heat during August, Sept and October, and the team got so accustomed to the "whites" they just decided to wear them full-time. Ive also heard that Tex Schramm just liked and preferred the white jerseys more........Anyone?

the Cowboys have the best looking jerseys in the entire league. I am talking about the road blues, home whites, and even the last 2 versions of the double star jerseys(the ones worn during the last 2 thanksgiving day games).
the only jerseys the 'Boys have ever worn that I have never liked were the double star jerseys from the 75th anniversary(of the NFL) they wore in the 90's. I never liked those. if anything those were bad luck jerseys(remember the championship game against the forty-whiners).
but I am glad they finally have the "tackle twill" for the letters and numbers instead of the screen printing. I guess that is league wide though.
and speaking of jerseys......does anybody know where i can find a throwback ROGER STAUBACH jersey? I am talking about the the old road blue jersey, not the white one. I would prefer one with tackle twilled name and numbers. if anybody knows where i can find one please let me know.

I don't think we need to change the Uni's at all. They're classic.
Still, I really do like the practice jerseys that we have:
White:
Blue:
I think those look nice!

Yep. I like them so much that I'd be okay if we started using them for games. They're very, very sharp and I think the team would look great lining up in them in San Diego.
In that pic of Barber, the blue is so dark that it's almost black. Worn with those shorts he's wearing it looks nice. I wouldn't mind having dark blue pants that match the numbers with the white jerseys. Man, that'd be nice.
Oh well. It'll never happen so it's a good thing that our old uniforms look great too.

Over the years we have had gray (blue-gray) pants & helmets and metallic silver pants & helmets (very subtle color difference). And we have had Royal blue stripes and numbers on the jersey and Navy Blue stripes and numbers. My preference is to have the metallic silver pants and helmets with the Navy Blue stripes and numbers. I don't believe that we have used that particular combination before and I would like to see us go to that. It is a subtle change and yet still using colors and designs consistent with our history.
I would not make any changes to the away blues; they look pretty sharp and we seem to have broken the Blue Jersey Jinx. And I would do away with Thanksgiving Jerseys all together I hate the look of them and we have started losing the Thanksgiving game every year since we went to that crappy looking throwaway...errr...throwback jersey.

Unlike many on this board, I liked the blue double star jerseys from the mid-90's (the ones worn in the NFC title loss to SF 38-28) and would like to see them as the permanent home uniform. Short of that, do it like the Eagles and other teams do: 4 home games in white (during the early season due to the heat) and 4 in the blue. I really like our blue road jerseys. We just never see them except for vs. WAS. I'm not superstitious about the jersey color. Turnovers lost us that NFC title game vs. SF, not the double star jerseys.

My thoughts exactly!
On not changing a classic... Look at pictures from the 70's, 80's, and even the 90's - it appears to me there have been many tweaks along the way.
On HD the home pants look like metallic teal and the numbers do not match the blue on the helmet. That has always bugged me a little.

I could dig that.
AS: Cowboys ice their own kicker in 19-13 OT loss
“That is one of the luxuries of my position as owner as well as the ultimate decision maker, general manager and president – I can do that and take the losses and come back for more,” Jones said.
God help us...............
