There's alway one team that makes it difficult to beat -- the albatross, the achilles heel, the team that always plays you harder than most. The team may not be a dynasty, but they play solid football in 4-quarters. Having the big game slip from their fingers twice just makes them harder to defeat -- but if you do, they'll be back next time even more determined.

That team has not won the big show before, they don't boast to media, and there's no out-of-reach standard to meet -- but they'll stop other teams in their division from getting! They've had a sweet taste of an NFC Championship but everyone seems to think they can't take the next step -- so they have something to prove.

After 5 post seasons with no Lombardi Trophy to show for it Eagles are probably their own worst enemies as opposed to anyone else's.

You just hit the nail on the head! Anger is an emotion that is controlled, can be channeled into a force that can work for you. Eagle attitude is the edge that the team Needs to bring them right back in the NFC Championship contention.

Good Hunting ...or Tally-Ho! (Hunt cry "the prey has been sighted") " Tallio, Hoix, Hark, Forward,"
which is a corruption of the French hunter's call. Four hundred years ago the French hunter encouraged his dogs with the musical cry of "Thia-hilaud a qui forheur!" sometimes printed "Tya-hillaut a qui forheur!" From this the English manufactured "Tallio, hoix, hark, forward."

There is also an emotion called losers syndrome. It can become a huge gorilla on your back if you let it fester.

I think the Gorilla currently weighs 290 lbs and brings fear to the hearts of the boys in green. It sometimes even makes em throw up in the huddle.

Lets look at a few things here.

1. The Cowboys improved more in FA then the Eagles did.

2. The Cowboys had a stronger draft then the Eagles did. Dallas got 4 players with 1st round talent and got a steal in a OT that coulda gone in the 2nd round.

The Boys have done a good job of closin in on the Eagles. Now your Eagles SHOULD win the East this year but if your Eagles are gonna win the Super Bowl they better do it this year. Reason is if Parcells has another FA and draft like this year where we finish off the D and then get a WR or 2 and some OL then your Eagles will be tryin to catch up to us.

On D we are a MLB and FS away from finishin the D. With next years draft we can do that real easy. We can also add some talent and depth to our OL in the draft next year.

Where Dallas needs to make a big move put out some $$$$ is for any top talent WR that is in FA. We do that and your days of bein on top of the NFC East will be over.

You better hope no big name WRs are gonna be FAs next year.

Enjoy it now Eagle fan cuz time is now runnin out for you real fast.

If we can make the playoffs and split the series with the Eagles I'll be very happy with the season.

Good post Talon. I don't agree with all of it but I can certainly see where a fan would.

The Eagles are the team to beat and have been for a while. I'm curious to see the ramifications of the hold outs and stuff. Everyone is talking about these things ruining the chemistry of the team. My fear is that all the talk about the "Eagle's decline" will become a battle cry. The last thing the division needs right now is for the Eagles to unite and play better as a team.

I think the Boys have taken some steps to close the gap. But we really don't know what kind of gap exists until we step on the field. Did we really make progress? Has there been a decline in Philly? We'll see.

I could care less about winning in the offseason and then stinking the joint up in the real season.

Here's looking forward to the season.

We've still got a mission, but we're not looking past the NFC-East ...at least not yet.
Just a thing to think about. We were not complacent, we were blind sided by smoke and mirrors. Since Parcells has been here we expected great things, the first year we delivered more then expected. That was our downfall. Parcells thought he could "coach it up" and save some bucks and go with what he had. They were decent last year.....so the story went. Reality was a shocker. Pple were calling for Parcells head. But Parcells also got the message.

He busted his @55 and reworked everything from the scouting department to the paving stones in the driveway. He has thrown out the garbage and then he went shopping. No more "piggly wiggly" for the boys, we went straight to Wolfgang Puck and bought Gourmet cuts of beef. BIG beef. Not only the improved player ability and actual athleticism, but smart players, char players, and then he put together a plan.

Sit back and watch it unfold with us. Shock and Awe weren't nothing compared to whats coming.

ps. How can a true eagirls fan root for the boys in any situation. I could never root for the skins or eagirls unless their win assured the boys of a playoff spot or something akin to this, and even then its a really tough call and I go back and forth on it. I cant do it.
Step aside for the Cowboys from Hell!!!!!

As old school as Bill is that he decided to crank up the defence first this off season sounds to me that he decided the way to go was to stop the Iggles(and others) offence and take his chances with our offence vs their defence. It sure will not be easy but it is worth a thought. The Iggles receivers still do not impress me. It seemed to me that the Iggles were depth drafting and didn't do better than that. Is that the way to attack them this year? Load up the D to pound them for 4 quarters?

Difficult to explain to you -- I guess it's the diffrence between being a football fan and not fanatic!

I've always had a number one and a number a number two team (the #2 team would always change from one year to the next). So your rules of engagement are totally different from mine. One thing will never change, and has always been ...win or lose, superbowl or not, on this message board and all others, through thick and thick, whether you are insulting to my team or not ... I will always be a dedicated Eagles Fan!

I see. I have been called a fanatic before. I have cried when the boys lost and I took a week off once when they won the SB. just to party and celebrate. I live and die with the Boys, Spurs and Astros. - so you can see why I am excited and bummed out. Spurs are about to win a championship and my astros really suck, and worse, Beltran is having a great year in an ok NY team. that hurts!!!!

Go Spurs!!!
