This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

We're also hearing that there are concerns as to whether the successor to Bledsoe, J.P. Losman, will pan out. Per one source, it's a 50-50 proposition at best as to whether he'll make it. Even if he does, he might only be "adequate at best" as a starting quarterback.

Wow, there was actually a difference of opinion involved...shocking. Like there was no discussion last year in Cleveland over Tim Couch when Davis wanted him out and Policy wanted to evaluate him for one more year. Like there was no debate over releasing Jeff Garcia in SF or even unloosing Mark Brunell in Jacksonville..or Vinny T in NY.
I think the interesting question is what Ralph Wilson wanted, seeing how in the past he never hesitated to make his desires known, like when he came out in favor of Rob Johnson starting over Doug Flutie.
For Donahoe it was the expedient move..with a young developing QB he can buy at least two more years. With Bledsoe he was down to just one.

Same Donahoe that mortgaged future for Bledsoe, then double mortgaged future for Losman? Same guy that drafted McGahee and never addressed Henry?
He deserves to be fired soon. And he will after this season implodes on him.

Well, I really dislike the man but can't blame him for making the trade for Bledsoe..who was starting then Brad Van Pelt??!!, and that after YEARS of the Flutie-Johnson nonsense. The post-Kelly years in Buffalo rivaled the post-Aikman years here.
Drew was what, 29 almost 30 at the time? It looked like a very sound move.
I guess TD muffed it on draft day, wanting too much for Henry on that Shelton proposed deal. As the day went on, and team after team went tailback (such a good year for them), it would have been funny to see the look on Tom's face.

You know what is kind of funny? The same guy that you bash fell in love with Bledsoe for the same reason you always tout. He fell in love with Bledsoe's arm strength while watching him in person.

Yes -
Didn't Drew take over a 3-13 team? Take them to 7-9 and made All Pro in 2002? Donahoe cut Peerless Price Free for a pick, cut Rieserma, Centers. And went "running game".....
I saw Bledsoe the football player 93-01. And stand by that. Donahoe gets nicked for Losman deal and not moving Henry - JMO

Shelton got released by AZ, so it appears Donahoe was right in asking for more than a straight up trade for Henry, wouldn't you say? According to Donahoe, he never got as much as a 3rd round offer for Henry on draft day. If that's the case the Bills would be better off keeping Henry as a backup or waiting until there's some injuries and the market for Henry improves, which is still quite possible.
