I got some of that impression from Canty, but not entirely. I spoke with him for about six minutes for an article I'll be working on, and yeah, he seems to be to himself, but I didn't quite sense the "dick" comment that Fisher referenced.

I didn't just throw him softball questions, and he didn't seem at all annoyed that I was asking them.

The only thing that perterbed me was that he said he hasn't really spent any time asking for advice from any of the vets yet. He said his mindset right now is just getting healthy. I could have sworn Glover, whose locker is next to his, kinda looked over with a bit of a stare. While it's smart to worry about getting healthy first, it's semi-surprising he's not taking advantage of sitting next to Glover in the locker room.

I wasn't there when the hurd of guys asked him questions, so perhaps Fisher got him in a different attitude and is justified in his claims. Not the most friendly of guys to the media, but I'd be hardpressed to call him a "dick."

Interesting takes Dale. Thanks for the feedback.

Honestly, who knows with the guy? Could be he really doesn't feel part of the team, cuz he can't participate in any of the on-field activities. I don't know, but I'm not going to spend too much energy psychoanalyzing the guy before he even steps on the field.

I don't care how Canty treats the media. I care how he treats his team and the opposing players (hopefully good and bad respectfully).

Then you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

We do it all in these parts. I've been around for too long.

We psychoanalyze, break down mechanics, apologize, annoint, haterize (sp) etc. We nornally do our best work before the real bullets start flying. Much easier to get our opinions across before the facts get in the way

Agreed. But me first will. I hope this is just I'm a rookie and worried thing rather than his personality.

Of course not talking to the media ala Duane is fine with Bill as long as Canty answers Bill when he talks to him.

Nobody rock the boat please. I've got a good buzz on from the moves so far.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Oh I'm sorry, I guess I haven't drunk enuff of the board kool-aid which makes me jump to conclusions w/o knowing those little things called facts. I'll work on that during the rest of the offseason.

Duane did more than not talk to the media, Thomas was talking to no one including teammates. It got to the point that he would sit in meeting with his back towards the coaching staff never looking up front. Great thing with Landry is no matter how good a player was when it got to that point you were a goner. As for Canty I would not put to much into this artical as of yet

You know who won't talk to the media?

Ben Noll.

Several of us tried getting interviews with him since he was working with the first-team at right tackle at certain times and had switched positions.

He wasn't a dick about it or anything, but just doesn't want to be in the news. "I'm not important. There are more important people you should be writing about," he said LOL.

Seems like he knows Bill doesn't want him 'eating the cheese.'

Mike Fisher is not just someone who writes for a basketball board , he is extremely plugged in. More plugged in than anyone on this board.

Did Fisher used to write for the Morning News or something like that in the mid-90s?

Was he the one that wrote Jerry had a last-minute change of heart when Campo was named the DC? Who am I thinking of?

Can't say that I blame him, all to often it seems that many like to twist the words of these guys to create a bigger story. I think these players are better off saying as little as possiable to the press. Other guys like Haley and Brian Cox could careless what they said or what the media printed

He's the one that's plugged in Dale. Surely you saw him standing over there next to Jerry and Bill, getting info.

This guy knows people.
