Screw the Ty Law theory, maybe it'll kill the "So and so to FS" threads. Or the "Joe Schmo just got cut, played FS in jr. high. Sign 'em up Jerruh" threads...
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

At least he's a true FS with experience...if Davis beats him out then good, that means Davis has some potential, if not we have some a true FS with some dang good players around him....

True.

And in any case, we've probably improved the bottom of the roster as well (i.e., L. Scott).

Obviously, the Redskins have been looking for a veteran free safety since they signed Cory Hall before he retired and just brought in RW McQuarters. Yet, even though Greg Williams coached Izell Reese in Buffalo they haven't even looked his direction.

....let's just say I'm not too sure this will be the end of the Lynn Scott era.

Despite labeling myself a "realist", no one understands my pain or appreciates my special truth. Stupid world.

Lets not be too hasty there Sal. We still need a RT and I'm sure Ty Law will eventually be worked into that particular scenario.

Just a gut feeling of course.

They also released six players: Harvey Dahl, Jonathan Evans, Clint Finley, Dominique Price, Duncan Reid and Marlon Tickles

But if Lynn Scott were available, would Williams sign him over Reese?

They obviously like Scott somewhat as a guy who knows his role and doesn't make mental errors, but I still like this sign. It can't hurt, anyway.

Probably making room to sign our draft choices. Nice!

Didn't Reese get beat out by an old, injured Converted CB in Buffalo?

Reese is hardly the "long term answer," but I think all of us know that player doesn't exist at the moment anyway.

Whether we had signed Schulters, Chavous, or whoever, they probably would have only been a spare part and would be in line for being replaced next season. Reese certainly fits in that group as well.

Unfortunately, unless a guy like Davis steps up, this will be a position of weakness this year.

Well, I don't think there's really any question, Ty Law he aint. Then again, he's probably not represented by the Postons either.
