The thing is he wants a contract upgrade, but w/new front office personnel and a coaching change, he had to know it wasn't gonna happen. Phil Savage has said he doesn't feel obligated to live up to promises made by the previous coaching regime. He restructured his contract last year and he wants to get some of that back, but he has no leverage in Cleveland.

As for his on-field performance, I didn't follow the Browns that closely. My opinion is he should just own up to the contract and then hope that he can get a contract upgrade next year. The problems w/holdouts is if u have to be realistic about the prospect of actually getting an upgrade. He's not being very realistic, IMO.

That said, we've got enuff O-line candidates that I don't think it's necessary for us to consider going after anyone else, 'specially someone still under contract.

JMO...But maybe Verba should try and making a Pro-Bowl or two before attempting to play hardball with his current team in regards to his contract.

Agreed. I'm assuming he's a solid player. But he's been a solid player playing on a bad team. So that doesn't exactly say alot, now does it?
