Frankly, none of the RTs out there were good, we'd just be adding another team's trash. If it is not a can't miss upgrade, we are better off working from within, IMO.

Because they were being paid at a rate that was beyond their worth OR because that teams has someone who is at least slightly better, even though we may not??
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."

We added Barber and Thomas at RB.
We added Rivera at RG.
We added Spears, Canty, and Ratliff at DE.
We added Ware and Burnett at LB.
We added Ferguson at DT.
We added Henry and Glenn at CB.
Now for your issues:
At WR we are getting Glenn, Key and Morgan back from injuries plus the young guys showed some flashes last year. No we did not draft or sign anybody, but which draft pick or FA would you trade?
We drafted Petitti, have Rogers coming back plus the additions of Rivera and getting Campbell back will help whoever plays RT.
[View Full Quote]We drafted Beriault and signed Reese, with improved CB play and some hope of a pass rush this again becomes a minor flaw.
We addressed EVERYTHING we had a hole at by either drafting someone, signing someone, or having an injured player coming back.
You can't have a pro bowler at every spot.
There was also no really good FA WRs, FS, or RTs out there, and NONE of those were as critical to fix in the draft as what we drafted.

NOW THAT WAS A MAGNIFICENT POST!!!
BZ (which stands for "Bravo Zulu", a Navy term for passing on a job-well-done accolade)
BZ can also stand for Blind Zebra as well.
I just would have added in the classic line of
ROME CAN'T BE BUILT IN A DAY!

in the 4-3: ellis, ferguson, glover and spears SIICK DEFENSIVE LINE
in the 3-4: ellis, ferguson/glover and spears PLUS Ware blitzing
thats all i gotta say..it all starts w/ the defensive line, if we get pressure...our secondary WILL be in position to make plays if the qb hasn't gotten his head taken off already!!!

That's just the way it is with most teams.

Yeah, didn't Troy Hambrick run for 130 yards against the Jets when Ferguson was there, yet didn't squat against hardly anybody else.

A good off-season does not turn everything around especially with what we have at QB, RT and FS.
I think we can be an 8-8 team this year, maybe 9-7.

Me too. People seem to forget that other teams had good off-seasons too, yet had better seasons than we did last year(Chargers,Cardinals,Panthers,Eagles,Giants,Bro ncos,Chiefs,Rams,Seahawks), just to name a bunch.
