Please supply proof that this is fact and not just your opinion, please.

I find it amusing that coaches get the blame when things go bad, but this inane position that the team won inspite of Switzer is beyond words.

So when the team screwed up it was Barry. When they won it was in spite of him.

Yeah, I see the logic.

Maybe Jimbo was better at hiding their problems.

That is entirely possible. He might be better at squelching things.

Oklahoma had great success unde Switzer and a lot of Police blotter stuff as well. Some guys just attract that kind of atmosphere.

If I love anything about Parcells at all it is his return to discipline approach.

Switzer had a huge gaffe in a Championship game with San Fran.
He also acknowledged he was just a "speech giver" here as he had no intentions of messing up a good offense and defense.
Switzer lost institutional control both here and at OU. Unlike Jimmy no one feared him because they could go directly to Jerry without repudiation. Anyone not a true star feared Jimmy because he liked cutting guys to feed his reputation as a disciplinarian.

Switzer is also a great guy. He is entertaining and honest as heck. Brutally honest in fact. He was a top notch recruiter because of that honest engaging personality.
But I still don't know what any team saw Thursday night that would have made them comfortable with waiting a round or two for the offensive lineman they wanted. ---Todd McShay
We just converted half our LB to DL. We have a 30m starting DL, it better be pretty friggin good.

But fans remember that moreso than the interceptions Troy Aikman threw to put us in that hole to begin with. No minimizing that, just pointing it out because some feel that cost us the game.

I don't blame him. Would you have fiddled with that? It is was not broke, why try to mess with it?

Coach Switzer also believe these players were men and treated them as such. All of these players were adults. But for some reason there is the implication that Barry got the hookers, bought the cocaine and wielded the scissors.

He didn't. These were not college kids who needed guideance. And someone pointed out earlier, maybe Johnson was better at hiding it because the people that were doing it were the stars of the team. If they performed on Sundays, he overlooked it.

And honestly, I think if he came in here with a hard *** style, nobody would respect it because that was not him. He had a different personality from Jimmy, yet some point that out as a character flaw.

If the blame needs to go someplace to make everyone feel better, blame Mr. Jones for hiring him.

I believe Switzer was a top recruiter due to the fact OU paid the players a little better , that being said I do not think Switzer did a bad job with the Cowboys. If you look at all the great colleges coaches that came to the NFL and failed and Switzer (correct me if I am wrong) had the best winning % of any Cowboys head coach and a SB. He must have done something right.
I know dallas had a great team ,but so did the Steelers, Niners,Packers and several other teams.I think he was the 4th best head coach in Cowboys history behind Tuna ,Laundry and Johnson.

The man was a buffoon. He had no business standing on an NFL sideline. Randy Galloway didn't dub him "Insignificant Sideline Personnel" for nothing. Remember the gun charge? Remember 4th and 1 in Philly? Yes, he steered us to a 5th championship, but the team was totally controlled by Jimmy's assistant coaches by that point. He simply got out of their way.

Bad judgment. But again, not reflective of his ability as a coach.

It was a fourth down play on the road. Many coaches make similiar decisions like this that fail. Yet, Dallas fans continue to crucify Switzer because of one.

Which ones?

Butch Davis left after the 1994 season. Dave Wannstedt and Norv Turner were already gone. By 1995, we had only Robert Ford, Steve Hoffman, Joe Avezzano, Hubbard Alexander and Dave Campo still on the staff. So they controlled the team?

BLASPHEMY!!! The guy was a complete stooge... 3rd best coach for a college something or another maybe, not jack squat for the Cowboys. Furthermore, Jerry Jones lobbied for Deion to come to Dallas on a national stage, in front of all the supermedia powers. Barry had jack squat to do with getting Deion.

Comparing Barry Doofus to Parcells is like comparing a VW to a Porsche. Dallas lucked out in winning SB XXX because they got their hind end kicked from the second quarter to the final whistle. If it wasn't for Neil O'Donnel throwing skinny posts twice to Larry "beaten the whole game by WR Mills" Brown, we would have been 0-3 against the Steelers in Super Bowls...

Lastly, the reason that was a bad Super Bowl was because it probably wouldn't have set well to have Neil O'Donnel being MVP for Dallas, rather the recipient of his interceptions was the only player worthy of recognition... Brown... Had the Steelers pulled out a victory, one could have easily given the MVP to RB Bam Morris because he ran all over Campo's weak decrepid DL back then... Remember Deion getting a clean shot at Morris in the open field and he dove to the ground beside his feet... I guess he tried to knock him off course with his speed and a gust of turbulence.

Not only do I remember 4th and 1 in Philly....but I remember it TWICE! It was horrible. We had not converted a third down in the second half. We failed the first time....the refs claimed the TV wasn't ready and ordered a replay and damned if we didn't come out and do the same sheot....AGAIN......Switzer struck me as a buffoon as well.
