Default What happened to Cortez last night??

What I'm refering to is his first kick went 7yrds deep in the endzone but the rest of them barely made it to the 7yrd line. Do you think BP told him to ease up to see how the kick coverage would do, or did he just not have enough left in the leg after the first one?

I felt his kickoffs were just fine and had an all around good night. He needs to keep it up

He had a couple kicks land right at the goal line too... I thought he did fine overall. The one kick that deep into the end zone definitely surprised me.

What happened was, a guy who is a career 8 of 18 from 40-49 yards just went 2 for 2 from that distance. As encouraging as that is, I'm glad we have two more weeks to look at him. Hope he keeps it up.

I hope I'm wrong about this guy and that he has finally got it together, but I'm afraid. Very afraid! It wouldn't surprise me that he continues to do well in pre-season and makes the team; then, just when we need him to win a game or preserve a victory, SWISH! He misses.

I do like his kickoffs though. How long has it been since we had kickoffs goin into the end zone or right to the goal line?

Touchbacks are overrated. I like kickoffs that go just inside the goaline. The runner has to decide whether to return it or down it and he often hesitiates a split second. Also, often kicks of that distance are returned short of the 20 which is better than a touchback.

He had one kick in the endzone and NONE of the others reached the goal line the closest came to about the 5yrd line.

I liked his first FG his second one lacked the pop the first one had but right down the middle the third one was a little wobbly and didnt' have the pop the first one had.

Over all I thought he did well. I was just wondering if anyone thought BP asked him to lighten up or if he overkicked himself on the first one because after that he didn't have the same pop on the ball....

I can remember 2 kicks where they landed at the 10 and 13 respectively, and one that went deep in the endzone. Not sure on the rest.

Sorry, jksmith. I distinctly remember at least one coming down right at the goal line in addition to the one in the end zone. To me, it doesn't matter much as I don't want him on the team anyway. I hope we find someone better.

fingers crossed here as right now he is our kicker with Cundiff's MR showing a tear.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

He had three kickoffs. One went into the endzone. One was returned from the 1 yard line and one was returned from the 10 yard line.

Cortez had five kickoffs. The first three went to the 0, 6 yards deep, and to the 1. The last two went to the 10 and 13. The biggest difference seemed to be the wind, which was blowing in his face on both of the last two kicks. You could see the kicks die in the wind.
