Was dissapointed is all, even though we won. Want to see more of him.

I thought so too, but San Diego did a great job covering him most of the game. They dared Crayton to beat them and he did.

Bledsoe in his post game comments said they called at least 3 plays for him, but he was always double or triple teamed. Kinda hard to get the ball to him when folks are committed to stop him.

They weren't as worried about our WRs as they were about Witten apparently and it shows in the stats.
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

It was a pick your poison type of game, they wasn't going to let Witten beat them. He will get his as the season progresses.

Exactly.

Don't think for one minute that Witten didn't have a huge impact on this game. He's the reason Keyshawn and Crayton got such great matchups.

Teams will have to pick their poison from now on. Put more coverage on the WRs and Witten kills you, put more coverage on Witten and the WRs will kill you.

Gotta give San Diego the credit for that.

Didn't Parcells say afterward that San Diego made it a priority to take him out of the game, so Bledsoe found the open receivers instead?

I'm actually impressed Bledsoe didn't force feed the ball to one receiver all game long. Many, myself included, were afraid that Keyshawn might be under utilized based on the preseason, yet he was the primary go-to-guy along with Crayton.

There will be games when the receivers are taken away and Witten is the guy getting the ball left and right. We know Bledsoe likes his tight ends.

Cowboy radio was talking about how the charges were running 2 LB and a safety over the top on Witten which is why Witten was not overly invovled in the passing game, even some plays that were called for Witten he was covered and Bledsoe had to go else where with the ball. Witten will have his days but when teams want to concentrait on him like that then Bledsoe has to look to others and todays those other guys were making the plays.

When a team games plans to take someone away you take what they give you. Look closely at Patrick Craytons numbers because how they played Witten directly affected that. Witten will get his.

Teams will soon have to make a choice. Cover Witten and let our aged out #1 and #2 beat them or cover them and let Witten beat them. Thats not a bad thing for Boys fans.

Oh yeah, throw Crayton in that mixture also.

I guess, but it seemed to me that Witten was left into block alot more today than he ever was last year and we didnt send him downfield much. I guess there's no point in worrying about a win

I bet SD fans are a 1,000,000 times more dissapointed that LT didn't touch the ball the last four plays. Gotta love Marty on the other sideline in a pressure packed situation.

Default Witten

Although it won't show up on the stat sheets, Witten had a great game. According to Bledsoe, the Chargers were covering him with 2 linebackers with safety help from atop -- 3 players to stop him! I'm sure this helped others get open. Man I love having a Pro Bowl tight end. I'm sure we'll be seeing this again -- teams scheming to stop Witten and Jones. I hope we keep making them pay for it. How 'bout them Cowboys!

Last year I got the impression that Vinny would lock onto Key and never look at anyone else. I don't know it for sure, I'm no expert and I obviously couldn't see the whole field or know what play was called, but sometimes it just seemed like Vinny was throwing it to Key no matter what. With Bledsoe that's just not the case. He's out there finding the open man, no matter who it is. And that's going to be huge as the season progresses, because teams won't know who to concentrate the defense on. And once Price is involved it's going to get even worse for our opponents.
