Default Early Redskin prognostication

I was very strong on Dallas last week. Actually giddy. I had several threads documenting SD being a big lie and overated team last year. I was somewhat suprised they kept it as close as they did.

This game could go two ways. Skins can get to Drew and quiet th e crowd early. Maybe eek out another low scoring affair. Their D can cause us problems if we don't adapt.

If we get up early we can see a can of wupazz. 40-7 win for the Boys. This is a dangerous game and Gibbs / Tuna is a good matchup.

I agree with you nors. I don't like all this "cakewalk" "blowout" talk...I sure hope our team isn't thinking that way. We might end up blowing them out, but they aren't just going to roll over and die for us...

Why not? They've been doing that for the past 8 years.

Their D is too good & well coached for a blowout...
However, if we score on D it could get ugly...

Right now - the past means nothing.

We have to bear down and get an offensive gameplan in place to attack Redskin defense. They are coming after Drew with the Kitchen sink - book that.

They have a chance if they can muck this into another low scoring affair. But if we can get a few quick scores we can win running away.

I figured last week would be close and was only suprised they had the success they did with McCardell.

This week the only real concern is making sure we keep their blitzers off our QB. Honestly they have nothing to lose. The players they dress have scored zero points this season.

I expect it to be easy but not necessarily a huge romp. A never in doubt 20-7 kind of game where we control the clock and the action.
But I still don't know what any team saw Thursday night that would have made them comfortable with waiting a round or two for the offensive lineman they wanted. ---Todd McShay
We just converted half our LB to DL. We have a 30m starting DL, it better be pretty friggin good.

I agree, Nors... I think it's a very dangerous game. Brunell actually worries me a little. I know he can't move like he used to, but he's still smart enough to know what to do in every situation.

If we get to 2-0, I'll feel a lot better going to California for the two road games... But I hope we don't take these guys lightly first. Hopefully the vets on the team will keep everyone level-headed... And a crowd frenzied for the Ring ceremony should help.

Cowboys 38 Deadskins 10

Bledsoe 4 tds 275 yards and pulled late in the third quarter

LOL the defense should have a field day against Dan Snyders ragged team

i have a lot of respect for the redskins defense. i think it will be a semi low scoring game and it will come down to turnovers and big plays..

I can't imagine Dallas scoring more against Washington than they did against San Diego. That's nothing more than a hunch though. I like Dallas to win. I just don't think it's going to be quite as easy as some are hoping. I'm thinking more along the lines of 20-10.

The foreskins don't have great talent on defense other than a few players, but they run a great defensive scheme. We may struggle early with the run, but I think we can attack them with the passing game, but we need to run the ball enough to keep them honest. They like to blitz and will live or die by coming after us Monday night. If we give Drew time, we could run away with this one. On the foreskins offense, we have to shutdown the run and force MB to try and beat us in the passing game. His arm is very suspect, which means he struggles with the deep ball. They have good speed at WR, but limited size. If our secondary can unload with a few big hits, Moss and company will be seeing stars all night.

You are way too easy Nors. I actually agree with you despite my earlier comment, but one player warms my heart when I think about this game...

Julius Jones

The Skins faced the lesser of the Jones brothers last week, and the Bears running backs got a total of 40 yards rushing.

I am not saying that Julius Jones will have a field day. What I'm saying is that we will run the ball over and over again, even if it means 2 yard gains and 3 and outs early in the game. This is how you stop a team that will blitz relentlessly. An aggressive defense tends to overpursue from time to time, and if you stick with the run, you can eventually break away some big ones when the defense overpursues.

Also, this takes a lot of pressure off of Bledsoe.

On the flip side, the Redskins receivers are a bit scary, but I feel better with Henry in the secondary as opposed to the revolving door we had there last year.

We put 8 and sometimes 9 in the box to stop LT last week, and we let Brees find his WRs once in awhile. The game plan this week will be similar, but I feel that Brees>>>>>Brunell.
