Default It's been almost 10 years since I could watch a season like this

The constant losing was start to take its toll. How many seasons since the Jimmy Johnson days have we watched our Cowboys get off to a 2-2 start, a 3-4 start, or something similar, and hoped it was only a slow start that would be followed by an improved squad, only to watch the team tank the middle or last part of the season?

For the first time in many, many years, I feel like we have a team that will actually get better as the season goes on. I've never seen a 21st century Cowboys team come out slow and then trash the living snot out of the defending NFC champions. I hope we see a Giants victory tomorrow and then a team that everyone was starting to write off for the year (including me) emerge as an NFC favorite in the Playoffs. Long live Parcells and his roster rebuilding.

You know I was saying this same thing on another board yesterday. How long has it been since you felt like we had a shot against anybody and everybody.

I don't mean we can beat everybody but I do mean we Can beat anybody. If this team finds that consistency we are looking for (sunday will tell that tale). We are in for some great Sundays.

Bring on the G-Men!!!! Go COWBOYS!!!!!

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. There's alot of optimism from the Philly win, and that's great. We're still only 3-2 though, I'm gonna wait a few more weeks (or til after the Giants game) before I go into all out homer mode.

"I just kind of stopped in the middle of a route, which is the worst thing you can do," Ogletree said. "He just told me, 'What were you thinking?' I kind of mumbled something to him and he was like, 'You're stupid.' "

Probably could have phrased that a little differently, but I did mean a win over the Giants.

I am not so sure that the Giants are a great barometer of whether this team will be successful.

Offensively they are great. Defensively they are the well...the Giants. 1st in O 31st in D.

I hope for an injury free, tie.

It's going to be one heck of a barometer for the defense, that's for sure. I still don't trust the D even after the Eagles win. Great stats by the D but it's a lot easier to win when your opponent is quickly down 3 TDs. I hope we are the first team this year to make Eli look like a second year QB again.

Fair to say you dont trust the D and the reasoning is well...Reasonable.

The biggest difference is that the Giants do have a running game. The are a much more balanced attack.

I feel that the Giants offense has benefited by playing some less than stellar defenses thus far.

We will all know after this Sunday.

The Giants aren't first in O.

I am fighting the Homerism as much as possible but I am so bad I start the fight about Draft weekend, and this years draft didn't make it any easier.

I do think the Giants have had a fairly easy road with their wins so far this year, SD handed them their hats. They beat NO, Cards, and Who else? Not exactly the elite. I know the O is rated high right now, but if our D is for real that will change. I do think we should win this game fairly handilly (HOMER, I keep telling myself I have reasoned it out).

YPG is an inaccurate way to measure an offense anyway. They are number 1 in scoring. That concerns me more than the other 8 teams above them who can simply get more yards per game.

I am so happy for you, TBC! Happy you are happy, I mean!

Roster rebuilding is taking longer here than it did in NY, where there was more talent, but an incredible long term decline in morale and coaching, but still shorter than in New England, where Bill had "two or three players".

When I see a kid like Ratliff playing a role, it's just thrilling, because even the lower depth is now superior to what the second tier was...on final cut day my head was reeling..how can Bill cut Scott, Walter, Vollers...those are our GOOD players, lol. Were one of them even picked up by another team?

I don't know. But it may be the roster level on the bottom is today a greater signifier of what a team really is than in the days when rotations were more limited, and second stringers sat while stars played virtually every snap. Now every spot is critical...NE has made a fetish of niche players in various formations, and it's paid off big.

Building a roster today is much more detailed, time-consuming, and intricate a puzzle than in days past, imo.

I am thrilled the Old Man seems to be up to the task. Just want to see him leave here with his last team a contender, and competitive for the forseeable future. That's the biggest accomplishment Bill made elsewhere.

Don't think any of them have. I thought it was kinda strange Tony Dixon landed a job before Lynn Scott. Then again, it was the Redskins.
