I am very excited to see how the Cowboys defense holds up against the Vikings' scoring machine.
Just one predicition here, you are going to regret that Winfield signing for many years. He's a midget (5'9) cornerback who is average at best.

Winfield is hardly an average CB at best. He is an excellent CB.
Did the Vikes overpay for him?
Absolutely.
Is he average at best?
Hardly.

Is is far above average and is the best CB in the NFC this season, as of now.

What's more interesting is that the Dallas Cowboys have played in 50 playoff games in its 44-year existence. During that time, the New York Giants have played in only 23 playoff games. Shoot, the Giants have only played in 37 playoff games in ITS 80-year history.
Ergo, in the past 44 years, which team made the odds more favorable for a "Cowboy/Giants" playoff game: Dallas or New York?
Please.
Let's look at that 2-4 record vs. the NFC East a little more closely shall we?
After the four wins over the Cowboys, the NFC East's record in the Super Bowl was... what? 1-3. On the other hand, what was the Cowboys Super Bowl record after beating NFC East playoff opponents?
Why it's 2-0. Amazing.
Congratulations on that 1-1 Super Bowl record after beating the Cowboys in the playoffs. Saaaaaaaaay! Do you know that the dictionary defines the "Ultimate Playoff Whipping" as "Super Bowl XVIII"? Shocking.

Just food for thought.
Of all the Super Bowl Games, half involved a team from the NFC East, the other half were divided between the other NFC divisions. Of the NFC East half almost half involved the Dallas Cowboys and the other half (Actually a little over half) were divided between the other NFC East Teams (Giants, Skins, Eagles and Cardinals). I think Dallas has more SB Rings than all of the other NFC East Teams put together(Could some of you Skin or Eagle Fans look that up for me)

The Skins have three, young man.
*Edit... that's what I get for opening a thread then going to get something to drink before I respond to another silly statement by an Iggles fan... RW beat me to it, and the asterisks are a good point. Two out of three of them were won during strike seasons. I got kicked off Extremeskins for bringing that up a long time ago.

No way, no how. Winfield is going to be exposed this year. The Vikings play the NFC East this year, how do you think he is going to match up against Keyshawn Johnson (6'4) or Terrell Owens (6'3)?
I am with you about the NFC, though, the best cornerback was Champ Bailey and he's gone. Of the top 5 cornerbacks in the league, they're all probably in the AFC.

Height doesn't matter much for cornerbacks. Ty Law is 5'11", and I heard he is pretty good. Sure the first two games will be tough on him, (you play them Week 1, we play them Week 2) but I am sure he will do fine. Ricky Manning Jr. is 5'8" and he abused Pinkston who is 6'2".
Both of our cornerbacks are 5'10", Dawkins is 6'0" and Lewis is 6'1". Rod Hood is 5'11".

I remember a Street & Smith's I read in about 89 or 90, where it said something like, "it seems like whenever the rest of the league is having problems, the Redskins finally can step in and take it all"... that always stuck with me.

Good example. One really crappy player outplayed an even crappier one.

Winfield will be all over KJ like a blanket.
Owens is another story.
Winfield is an excellent CB. Like I said in another post, he was overpaid by the Vikings but he can play, no question about it.

I'd agree, but I'd also say that the talent split between Winfield and Newman is 55/45.
We'll see at the end of the year who's in the ProBowl and who isn't.
