Tucker going unnoticed
What a difference a month makes. It wasn't long ago that we were all freaking out over Flozell's injury and Tucker being moved to the left side.
As it turns out, Tucker has gone relatively unnoticed, which is a great thing. I'm not pushing him for the probowl by any means, not even saying he's as good as Adams, which he isn't.....yet.
But Tucker has held down the fort, apparently without mental errors as in the past. Most impressive to me (which is a sad commentary on the focus of million dollar athletes) is the fact that Tucker hasn't been committing the false starts or the holding penalties that many others have or that he was notorious for last year.
I wonder if Rogers could possibly take a similar step forward next year, assuming he'll still be on the roster at least for camp.

I still see him getting blown off the line sometimes, letting his man free, but for the most part he is holding down the fort pretty well for Flozell.

Considering how he looked last year and in training camp, I don't think we can ask for much more than we are getting from him.
And Flo, while certainly much better, isn't/wasn't exactly a model of consistency either.

Rogers will be cut and Tucker/Pettiti will be groomed for the future LT job IMO. We will draft a RT too, IMO. Oline, FS, CB depth and WR depth are the major needs come offseason. I really wish Rogers elected to not have surgery so he could have still played this year, instead of electing to have it and sit out the year. IMO we should try to see what he has this summer. Rivera should be pushed next TC too. I wouldnt be suprised to see Peterman battling with him. Tucker has done ok, nothing more nothing less. He will still struggle with guys like Peppers but so will Rob. Tucker is improving too so hopefully he can start there when Flo leaves.

Wayne...I was one hammering on Tucker....he scares me to death.
Before you give him props go watch more tape...especially Iggles game...he got eaten alive...flat out sucked. I have not been hammering him in posts here because BP decided to go with him and that's that. I'm not going to waste my time calling him out, but don't give the guy props when he's given up several sacks and is getting pushed around like a rag doll. He was manhandled in many situations in Philly...bottom line!
That's all I'm gonna say....

As was the rest of the O-line. They all played terrible.

He gave up one sack.......if he was sucking so bad, Bledsoe would have been killed. The Eagles blitzed on almost every down, so I think he did well. You have not heard his name in any negative light in any of the other games either.
Nothing wrong with giving this guy props..............Petiti also played well the past few games, other than the Seattle game.

Watch him one-on-one! I understand they blitzed like crazy...of course that's not his fault.
My comments are based off of watching him and Pettiti specifically two nights to see how they did. He got hammered...period. Go watch tape before you make general commetns..."oh I have not heard his name, therefore he must be doing good"....
Go look for yourself!

the downgrade in play from Adams is very noticeable...his pass blocking and run blocking are average at best, mediocre at worst...

This will piss people off. Tucker is doing no worse than Flo. Flo was, is and will continue to be our most inconsistent o-lineman. Instead of picking apart a single game on Tucker, do the same with Flo.
Johnson was being man handled by a freakin' LB!! Philly was bringing the house and at one point or another they all under-performed.
AS: Cowboys ice their own kicker in 19-13 OT loss
“That is one of the luxuries of my position as owner as well as the ultimate decision maker, general manager and president – I can do that and take the losses and come back for more,” Jones said.
God help us...............

Better yet, watch the tape from both Eagles games. In the first game we blew them out largely because we were able to pick up the blitz on the left side and in the middle. Flozell Adams started that game and he and Larry Allen were often taking out two guys at a time. In the second game, with Tucker in place of Flozell, it was a different story.
In the second game Tucker was just short of aweful which threw Allen's blocking off as well. That led to pressure from Bledsoe's blind side. It also led to pressure from up the middle because unlike the last game where Larry Allen was able to cheat to his right and help out the Center, in the second game he was not able because he had to devote too much time to his left to cove up for Tucker's marginalblocking. That in turn left Al Johnsion a bit more exposed and Bledsoe vulnerable to the middle rush.
Don't take this as me knocking on Tucker. For all accounts many teams struggle with the Eagles' rush and the times the OL, including Tucker, held their own we burned their secondary and scored TDs. But for most of the game we struggled, and largely because Tucker is no Flozell Adams. While Tucker is a solid backup at LT, let's not annoint him to Adams status just yet.

I agree with this assessment. Tucker's play is affecting the left and center of the OL. Tucker may be surviving, but we miss Adams. It's that simple.

Can't say I was happy with the overall play of the O-line last weekend. No reason to single Tucker out when the other 4 looked less than great as well. I think we are capable of better play than what we showed Monday

Unnoticed? I noticed him making a scrub Eagle d-line guy look like a probowler on a series or two.
All the while, Petitti is handling Kearse pretty well.
