WR's for 2006

I know it's still early, and 2006 is awhile away, but I really do wonder about our WR position going into next year.

Neither Key nor Glenn will be getting any younger. Neither are true #1 WR's but they both complement each other very well. Both will be on the plus side of 34 ... and neither speed nor strength increase with age.

I think both Key and Glenn won't be as effective as they are this year. Meaning, for one them, it could mean their last.

While I'd love to stay sentimental to what Key and Glenn have done for us, we can't continue to plan our future around two aging WR's.

Here's what I can see happening ...

- I think Glenn is the odd man out.
- Key has one more good year under his belt
- we'll do our best to re-sign Price, who takes the #2 WR spot
- Patrick Crayton continues to improve and steps firmly into the #3 spot
- I think we bring aboard one more medium-name WR from FA to complete the quartet ... it won't be TO
- I don't think BP will draft a WR. If we can sign Price, we'll be set for a few years.

I think we draft a WR. maybe not first round, but we could use some more youth. Not too sure Price will be here next year. Will be interesting to see how it shakes out. Glenn or Key maybe gone next year.

i don't see us signing price. al harper want to be. i would rather have glenn than kj. remember last year we was playing decent till glenn went down. you need someone to stretch the field. and i don't think glenn has a bonus coming,kj does

Strangely, there was no competition on Price when he was released by Atlanta. I think we can lock him up long term for a friendly salary. I like what he's been able to do and he buys us some time from having to use a top pick on a WR.

WR's and QB's take too long to develop.

Then again, I was screaming for us to pick Mike Williams. I'm not sure if I'd trade Ware for 10 Mike Williams' at this point. Which brings me to wonder, what the heck is Matt Millen thinking? He already has Charles Rogers and Roy Williams ... with so many holes, why take a position where you're so strong at??? Was it fantasies of the greatest show on turf in Detroit???

Terry Glenn will only be 32 next season. Like Aaron Glenn (age 33) he dosen't seem to lose his speed with age. He's having one of the best seasons of his career. Terry is our biggest playmaker on offense and still has two years left on his contract. I think he will play out his contract.

Keyshawn is slow, but he makes the tough catches and is a good blocker. I think he will play for us next year too. Remember Parcells realy likes these two receivers and they can still help this team.

Yes, but Aaron Glenn is a situational player. Terry would be much more effective next year as a #3 WR where he won't wear down.

Price, Glenn, Key, and Crayton need to be given a fair opportunity to compete for the 1-4 spots.

I like Crayton's mojo and look forward to his return, but does it mean less playing time for Price?

It's actually a nice situation we're in at WR ... instead of picking from scraps, we actually have talent to draw from.

It's actually a nice situation we're in at WR ... instead of picking from scraps, we actually have talent to draw from.

Aaron Glenn has played two full games now and is doing fine. We also have Patrick Crayton to spell Terry Glenn (which he was already doing this year before his injury).

If we don't resign Peerless Price we need another receiver, I just don't see it as a big priority. Maybe a third rounder to develop for the future. Glenn and Keyshawn will be good for us next year too.
