If we beat Denver we have accomplished nothing. This is an AFC-NFC match-up. Thats all.

The game to win is the following week at New York. Even if we lose to the Broncos, we still can "touch" Giants the following week (whether they win or lose) and pull ourselves back into first place.

Cowboys win (8-3), Giants win (8-3) = showdown next week for first place. NOTE: Dallas wins their in first place. N.Y. wins their in first place.

Cowboys win (8-3), Giants loss (7-4) = showdown next week for first place. NOTE: Dallas wins they have the inside lane. N.Y. wins both teams are tied due to both teams conference records.

Cowboys lose (7-4), Giants loss (8-3) = showdown next week for first place. NOTE: If Dallas wins their back in first place. N.Y. wins they have the inside lane.

The answer still remains the same.

Like I said, this game is nothing but a "measuring stick" thats all.

I try not to focus beyond the next opponent but a Cowboys win could be huge in hopes to make the Superbowl.

Perhaps it's too early to think of it..but a Cowboys win, Giants win and Seattle loss means the Cowboys are getting into position for Home Field throughout the playoffs.

Moral is..a win is a win and can help you down the road. A loss can only hurt you.

I agree it is a measuring stick game for the Cowboys which in some ways makes this just as important for the Cowboys at least from the mental stand point of knowing we are good enough to make a legit run heading to the playoffs

All games are important. Say you go with this thought. What happens if we lose a couple of games down the stretch? This game will matter a whole lot then!

It may mean nothing to you but it's a Super Bowl measuring stick for me. I still think the AFC is superior to the NFC. The Broncos play in arguably the best division in football. If the Cowboys can beat the Broncos, I think they have a shot at any team in this league. Go Cowboys!

True every game is important but in comparison to upcoming games this does not hold the same amount of weight because it is against as AFC team and is not used as part of any tie breaker. But you are correct like any game it is of importance to the Cowboys

I agree, every game is important, however every game can not be "MUST WIN" games.

My priority starts with:

1) Division wins
2) Conference wins
3) Home wins
4) Away wins
5) AFC wins

The Cowboys see the Broncos game as a measuring stick.
This is the game when they find out just how good they are.

The Cowboys (7-3), who are tied with the Giants atop the NFC East, believe they are good. But there is no question about the Broncos (8-2).

Denver is easily the best team the Cowboys have faced this year, and some players believe the Broncos are playing as well or better than any team in the league — including the undefeated Colts.

"It's a huge test," defensive tackle La'Roi Glover said. "Denver is good, real good. This will be a heck of a challenge."

"You got a team that is probably the best in the league," receiver Keyshawn Johnson said. "With all due respect to the Colts, the Broncos have played superior opponents. They have an excellent coach. They have a quarterback on fire and a running game that has always been one of the best. We will have to have our 'A' game. You can't come in with your 'B' game and expect to win."

The Cowboys, who have been sluggish in their past two wins, know they have to play better in order to beat the Broncos.

"We didn't play up to our standards," quarterback Drew Bledsoe said. "But it's a good problem to have, winning and not playing well. But we understand we have problems and we have to correct them if we wan to continue to win."

The Cowboys say they need to be more consistent on offense, and they also must improve their pass blocking.

Protection for Bledsoe has been suspect since left tackle Flozell Adams was injured against the Giants.
