I see nearly every breakdown of stats imaginable, but nothing actually comparing situations from game-to-game. lol

Way to fan the flames Zebra!
That's a good post though. I support the EG signing, but I've never really bought the "3rd down back" or "short yardage specialist" line that many use to defend bringing him in.
First of all, he was frequently taken out of third down sets for the Titans in favor of Holcombe. Second, as a habitual EG fantasy owner... I can tell you that he often struggled or failed in the redzone.
I think the real reason to sign him (and the reason he was signed) was to be an insurance policy and mentor to Julius. Or, if he is somehow 100% healed and can turn back the clock, possibly even earn the starting job (much less likely in my view).

He was better last season, but George has historically been a good short-yardage back. We'll see how he fares now that he's on a team that will be built around a power running game out of the I instead of a one-back offense.

Yes he did. I dropped down a line when I copied the stats. My bad.

Hambrick last 8 games:
Redzone
17 Att, 45 Yards, 2.6 YPC, 0 TD, 1 FD
3rd down
12 Att, 35 Yards, 2.9 YPC, 0 TD, 7 FDs
Hambrick got fewer carries in the redzone, but had a better YPC in the second half.
He had an equal amount of carries on 3rd down and he had a better YPC and over half of his FDs in the second half.

since you want to look at situational stats, I heard on ESPN this morning that Eddie George actually averaged a healthy 4.1 yards per carry last year when running to his LEFT, where we have our best running lanes behind Adams and Allen....just food for thought.

EG also has a better YPC average when there is a hole the size of Texas right in front of him.
Reports are that he also has a better YPC average when all defenders are knocked backwards or on their back.
Further analysis coming......

That's a 61% 3rd down conversion rate - likely against a stacked D. Really not so bad.

Where did you find splits for just the last eight games of the season?

Brown 3 Att, 1 Yard, 0.3 YPC, 0 FDs (zero percent), 1 Stuff (33 percent)
SECOND OR THIRD AND 0-2
George 20 Att, 38 Yards, 1.9 YPC, 13 FDs (65 percent), 2 Stuffs (10 percent)
Brown 6 Att, 8 Yards, 1.3 YPC, 3 FDs (50 percent), 3 Stuffs (50 percent)
