Image Sharing Etiquet - Dallas Cowboys Forum

Hey guys (and you know who Im reffering to):

Calico, Tek 2000, etc. There is so much cool stuff at this site. I think alot of members have worked hard to produce thier work. Is there any etiquet to sharing this material with other users within or outside this domain?

I don't mind my stuff getting shared at other sites. Most all of my videos are "watermarked" with my name on them. I had a problem where 1 guy took a group of videos clips I posted and combined them.. put some music on there and reposted them like he created this super highlight video and didn't give me credit. SO.. I put my name on the stuff so people can't just copy it like that.

That mentioned, if anyone wants a video clip of a game WITHOUT my 'watermark' on it.. simply ask me and I'll see if I can't get it to you. I don't mind people using my stuff at all.. I just want credit for the work I do to cut and edit the clips.

And I'm sure calico appreciates people giving him credit for the videos he posts as well.

You'll notice that Hoods includes "credits" at the bottom of his wallpapers for where he got photos from and such.

Ill try to follow the same etiquet when posting anything here or abroad. Thanks for the cool wallpaper. I have plans to create some of my own. When it's finished, I'll post it for everyone.

I would be upset if someone claimed my work as theirs, I'd be more upset if they were hotlinking to my site.

Good point no hot links of course.

I have an Idea to host your material on a site I am creating. Of course all the content will be acredited to the author. I've been collecting video and images from abroad and none has been more inspiring than the content I have discovered here. There seems to be a need for a publisher and distributor of this work. "A One Stop Shop" for an image source. If the material is regularly available without interruption everyone could consider it their public library. Just like any gallery of museum, the artists work is on consignment. Of course we cant sell any of the work. But making it well organized, easier to share, and available on a consistent basis, could help everyone. I dont mind the effort, any more than you mind the effort you make when creating your work. The priviledge of collecting and sharing it is reward enough.

Are you creating a website for this material?

I have thought about putting up a website for all my videos (and other videos) for download.
