What I find interesting is how GB used to develop all these young QB's and stud them out for draft picks ... but when it came time to replace Brett Favre, they used a #1.

What happened to farming their own young QB???

His numbers are pretty good on first glance except when you see that he has thrown 15 interceptions this year (8th worst in that nation). QBs who throw that many in College scare the hell out of me when I think about them in the pros.

I've watched Hollan. You have to factor in that he plays in Fort Collins, which can be brutal in the winter. He also played @ Minnesota, in Boulder and in Provo. All bad weather locations. Having said all of that, he doesn't look like a Pro QB to me. Reminds me of a poor mans Charlie Batch. Less arm thou. Honestly, he doesn't really impress me as anything more then a career backup at best. Not nearly as good as Romo IMO.

Having watched him myself, and having relatives that go to CSU, I would agree with your comments for the most part.

The one thing I would not agree on is his Arm Strength. He does have a strong arm, but the thing I do not like about him is his Mental Makeup. He just seems to make a lot of mistakes, and lets them wear on him. He never looks confident.

I think he has all the physical ability, but not the mental makeup.

I agree a career backup at best.

I agree with your assessment and you probably are still giving him too much credit. I don't know if weather played that much of a factor in the road games you mentioned. Minnesota plays in the Metrodome. The game against CU came at the very beginning of the season(9/3/2005) and the game against BYU was in mid October(15th).

Also watch out for Eastern Washington and Walter Payton Aware winning QB Erik Meyer. Norm said he's building some buzz with the scouts. 6'1", extremely accurate, decent to good arm, great intangibles, winner, has a little "it" factor to him.

Hmmmm ... sounds like another Walter Payton Award winner I know.
