Thinking, Want BP back or No?
I keep thinking that I really want BP back, but also in the back of my mind there is a little thought creeping in that says....if Jerry would make a really good hire of a new HC maybe it would be better.
After all here is what makes me argue with myself.
BP has made me happy with the drafts, especially this years rookie group.
I love the switch to 3-4, but Zimmer has not run it as aggressive as I would like. I hope we have both new OC and DC with a more aggressive style in general.
I have not loved the play calling either and not just this year and if BP didn't like it then he would have taken that over.
BP is extremely hard headed....why not play one of the young QB's the last game of the season since we were out of the play off hunt? This is not the first time I would have liked to see some young guy get a chance to play in the game.
It's not like I would cheer BP leaving, it's more that I would be scared to death about who Jerry may hire to replace him. Also if BP had to hire both a new OC and DC maybe just maybe we would also have our future HC in place. Also maybe he would hire someone like Capers for our DC.
There are other things that pull me one way or the other about this, but as of yet I still hope to hear BP is staying, but maybe it's the thinking by me that him staying will give us another great draft and as HC he's better than many others keeping me safe from Jerry making a bad hire again.
Bottom Line... if I knew we would get as good or better HC if BP leaves, I would not care, but that is not a given.

If there were someone out there who was a sure upgrade (and younger) then I would jump at the chance and tell Bill thanks but goodbye.
Captain Nathan Brittles: "Only the man who commands can be blamed. It rests on me... mission failure!"
"Jerry Jones is a billionaire fan who bought his own team for the express purpose of buying his way into the game. He wants to hang out with the players, stand in front of the cameras, be the face of the team (yech), make personnel moves as if this were a video game, and more than anything else, be seen as the guy who made it all happen."

to tell u the truth he should go we are going no where with him around here.we will be good team but more like kansas city win some lose some and end up always around 8-8 or 9-7.i never liked his play calling even when he was with the Giants ( when he was wining). he control coordinators to a degree they can't funcation . so we will be better i think with out him if he goes and i hope no one blame JJ this time around

Thumper, there are no sure things...Even if BP signed a 2-3 year extension, its not a sure thing we would win a superbowl.
If there was a sure thing Jones and Snyder would be batteling banks accounts to get it.
Be excellent to each other....

Exactly m point, there isn't anyone out there better than Parcells at this point so why make a change? Also, I said a "sure upgrade" not a "sure SB winner".
I think that if we can upgrade our coordinators it will go a long ways towards improving our situation. Both Dom Capers and Jim Haslett would be "sure upgrades" over Zimmer IMO.

Last time I checked message boards were for discussion and expressing ones thoughts, is that not what I did?
If you don't like the topic please feel free to not read the post and keep your BS talk to your self. The last thing this board needs is another smart a--.
Thank You!

They sure are but did you see the other 50 posts saying the exact same thing you did?
Ok, discussions, so you want to start over with a new coaching scheme, philosiphy, etc? Good idea. It worked so well with Campo, Coslette, etc... when those puppets were coaching you never expected them to win, you never expected this team to be in games. Shoot, we couldn't even draft to save our lives with those guys in there. NOW that BP has built a contender we get upset that we aren't winning close games, we are not in the playoff's, superbowl, etc...
Why reinvent the wheel. Allow Parcell to keep drafting, keep coaching and keep contending.

I am a huge Parcells fan and realize he has his flawys. But this was a huge gripe for me last year and last week. The season is over..Vinny(last yr) and Bledsoe are not our QB's of the future..give Romo or Henson some much needed time. This year it could be argued that neither got many reps in practice since we thought this game vs STL might be meaningful. Last year there was no excuse. And it could be argued that many home fans spent hard earned money to see the dallas starters vs STL. Regardless, I still feel the decision to start Vinny/Bledsoe in the final games of each season, knowing it meant nothing, was a mistake.

Actually no I didn't see the other 50 since I have more to do than read this board to see if anyone else has said the same thing.
Like I said if you don't like the subject or are tired of what the topic of the post is I would suggest you not read it????
And actually I didn't say I wanted to start over, I said I have mixed feeling about BP coming back and that is for many reasons, like he may leave next year? I want more than a year to year wondering if??
And I am pretty sure you mean "philosophy" and yes if that means we would need to start over next year instead of this year. However I do not want another pull a coach from the hat type hire (like coaches past few years before BP).

maybe you should read the posts that discuss exactly what you are posting so you may join the discussion. It seems you have enough time to argue with me about this post.
I do not mean to be an a**, I am just tired of hearing about getting rid of BP. He is the only coach that has done shi* for us in 6 + years and now people want him to leave. THERE IS NO ONE ELSE OUT THERE BETTER, that is available.....

I would be shocked if he signed extension and stayed on. He may sign extension to "smoke and mirror" his last year(next year) to avoid the questions for last run.
