The point is they don't need to start all over again. Which is what they would be doing to bail on Carr this soon, and it looks like Carr is going nowhere.
Bush or OL is the direction they go. If it's OL, watch them trade down for someone greedy for Bush or Young.

And we give up a first rd pick when we have a big need for another LB and RT and other big holes. Carr doesnt solve anything for us. I just cannot fathom why anyone would give up a 1st rder for him.

Then again, I don't think RB is either. I like Domanick Davis.
They have to fix OL. If they are going to wheel and deal it needs to be to trade down, stockpile picks and go OL.

I agree they need to trade down and get O-Line...but I would not put nothing past a team.
I have seen The lions take 3 WRs with first round picks in a row even though that was not a major need.
I have seen the texans and packers take a QB in almost every recent draft even though they could have used a player at a different position.
So in that respect I could see it happening.

I understand the point. But at this point when they are likely to have an entirely new front office and coaching team I could almost see them wanting to divest themselves of some of the bigger possible problems. This Texans team is just about tied with the 49ers as the lowest talent team in the league.
I agree they should trade down, I think thats the smart football move, but its also a move that will likely take 3-4 years to pay off. I'm not sure that they aren't looking to do something faster than that.

I would throw this out there. Historically, Reeves is not affraid to take a chance on Big Time QBs. He took Elway when he was in Denver, he took Vick when he was in Atlanta and now he is in a position (should he be named HC) to take Young if he wanted him. This guy is not affraid to take a chance and what's more, he believes in QBs that can run.

yes, exactly, did you even read my post mickgreen? Carr will be 27 next year. Do you honestly think Carr will beat out Bledsoe this year or next? zero chance. He will be 29 at least by the time he has a chance to start. You are the one who needs to look at his age.

Maybe he meant that even at 29 Carr would be younger than Bledsoe is right now. I don't agree with Mickgreen that Carr is worth a 1st round pick. He hasn't played well enough to garner such a high draft pick. If Houston was going to trade him, I doubt they would expect a 1st rounder in return.

Trade a 1st rder for a guy who cant beat out our current starter and will be almost 30 by the time he starts? no thanks. I'd give up a 7th rder for him.
