Lawrence Vickers
What do you guys think, sound like a Parcells FB to you?
Height: 6-2 | Weight: 235 | 40-Time: 4.86
Official Bio
Strengths:
Is a good ball carrier...Tough and runs with power...Strong and will maximize the yardage on every carry...A physical blocker...Great receiver out of the backfield...Can work in space...Also an excellent special teams player...Mature and a hard worker with top intangibles...Productive and has a lot of experience.
Weaknesses:
A RB / FB 'tweener who may not have an ideal pro position...Undersized and needs to bulk up...Speed is below average...Gives good effort but is not very explosive and doesn't finish as a blocker...A jack of all trades but master of none.
Notes:
The Buffaloes called him their "V-Back", named for his versatility for being a solid tailback, fullback and receiver...Player who can help a team in a number of ways and fits of mold of what the NFL is looking for in the position these days.

Just a quick question...
How "good" was Darryl Johnston his first 2-3 years in the league?
Maybe we should give Polite a decent chance to succeed before replacing him.

Moose was actually pretty good but he played on a horrible team. The fact that Jimmy tried to use him at Tailback, one of his lessor know Fups, is proof of that. However, he was good even then. Having said that, I agree with you to a point. I don't like the weakarse FBs who can't bend teeth at the point of attack but it's not my call. This guy, to me, is a carbon copy of Richie Anderson.

Sorry, but I remember how he played as a rookie. He wasn't "Pretty good". It took him time to develop, just like with most football players.
And Johnson didn't use Moose as a tailback cuz he (moose) was good. He used him as a tailback cuz the tailbacks we had SUCKED.
What's wrong with actually giving these players TIME to develop? Hell, he wasn't even bad. Not even close to it. Everyone finds every single bad play to b**ch about with Polite, but never praise him when he does good. Nobody said a thing about the block he had vs the Panthers on JuJo's long TD run.
By the way, that draft profile? Sounds just like Lousaka Polite's draft profile.

We will have to agree to disagree then. I think your full of crap on this one but hey, many feel the same about me like 90% of the time.
In Johnston's rookie year, he rushed 67 times for 212 yards. An average of 3.2 on a team that had a horrid OL. He had 16 receptions for 133 yards and 3 TDs. I think you'd be hard pressed to find one rookie FB who put up those numbers last year. And he could always block like a Mack truck so I'm not certain what you would expect out of a Rookie FB on a piss poor team like we were in 89 but in my book, that aint bad.
As for Polite, well, like I said, that aint my decision. BP likes these type of players. The fact that you point out Polite's Bio reads the same is proof of that. The question I asked was, does this sound like a BP FB to you? I would guess, from your response, that it does.
