Default UH-OH...Gonna Be Some Unhappy People (Landry)

LSU free safety LaRon Landry decided to come back for his senior season instead of entering his name in the NFL draft.

I know quite a few people were hoping for Landry, so I figured the disappointment deserved its own thread.

Maybe now we can focus in on a Ko Simpson via the draft or possibly Will Demps via free agency to sure up the FS position.

BTW, looking up Will Demps online gave me his website. I think it's pretty safe to say the pictures and this quote by him trumps anything Billy Cundiff could've done.

"So Leverett, how about 6 SACKS, 7 INT'S , 4 FF, 12 PD, and 100 TKLS for 2005. That is what I think should be common for Will Demps type numbers for a safety."

Thats nice and all but Will Demps plays SS not FS. You know, the other guy is their FS, who probably is the best FS in business right now.

Will Demps sux.

And for the record, Demps is listed as FS and Reed is SS on NFL.com.

Demps tore up his knee or broke his leg or something this year.
Thankfully, I was smart enough to have never believed...

For one, Demps tore his ACL. Two, he's a FS, not a SS. You should know Ed Reed is the SS of the Ravens. Three, Demp's injury is not severe as he will be running and training by the end of this month. Lastly, Demps sucks? This is the same guy the entire board almost spewed a load over hoping to get him until the Ravens put a 1st round pick tag to sign him away. Now without the restriction he sucks? Hmmm...

I would have liked Landry to come out because it might have pushed a good FS to us in round 2, cause Landry surely wasn't gonna last til we pick in the 2nd.

NFL Advisory committee reportedly gave him a second-to-third round grade. I was happy to read that because I had come to the conclusion that I was the only one who thought he wasn't worth our first round pick and was getting sick of mocks having us select him with the 18th pick.

Looking at this thread, though, looks like Nors had him ranked even lower than I did.

Advisory came in 2nd-3rd
I had him a 3rd to 4th - the few times I saw him in deep coverage he was exposed. I think the kid made a smaert move. Get another year stronger, faster and mentally ready to play. Maybe he pushes a late 1st to 2nd sure thing next draft.

I would rather take my chances on a young pup in the draft than go after Demps. He has done little IMO while being surrounded by playmakers everywhere on defense.

I'd rather take my chances with a veteran at FS, Keith Davis was a young pup too
