Jason Campbell = Quincy Carter
I don't get the Skins hype over this guy, Q and him are virtually clones of each other. Anyone who watched Auburn a few times knows he is not an NFL caliber QB unless he has the best O-line in football, the best defense in football, and the two best RBs in football around him.

I don't know how you can make that judgement without seeing him in an NFL game. He's probably well suited to their roll out offense.
That being said, I really hope they start him this year. Actually, I think they're gonna have trouble with him or Brunell, so it really doesn't matter, LOL.

I don't know...the Redskins seem like a force to reckon with, well for the next 2 years atleast. They scare me, what if they get a 14 of 15 on us?!

Why? Because you think gimp-leg Brunell can last another full year, and play at the same level? I doubt that. Springs, one of their defensive cogs, struggled with injury this year, and is only getting older. Even if they pull off a cap miracle, they have little to no money to seriously upgrade their team. They have no legit recieving threat after Moss. It was obvious teams had figured out what was going on with their little PA rollouts by the end of the year, and their WR screens, which seemed to be about 40% of their offense.
I've got to tell you, I'm unimpressed.

I will reserve judgement on him until I have actually seen him play. There have been QBs I thought little of that went on to be stars and some that I thought highly of and they did exactly nothing.

Did he play baseball too? If not, you know what assuming does.

I don't think Campbell is nearly as mobile or athletic as Carter and his arm is much better coming into the league. I doubt that the skins coaches are teaching Campbell how to hold the ball. When Q was drafted, the coaches said that he needed a few years before he would be ready to play and stressed that he needed a lot of development. I haven't heard this said of Campbell and don't think so after watching Auburn play. I see very few similarities between the two. That said, Campbell has a good chance to turn into a good player especially if he is allowed to develop for a couple of years. Quincy had a good chance to be a good player too, but he just couldn't stay off of drugs. Most people on this board hate Q, but he was developing.

At least they did the smart thing and let him sit and watch for a year. The same thing should have been done for Carter. I haven't heard any drug issues surrounding Campbell and until he plays, we won't know if he has a penchant for impulsive(bad) plays when pressured.
In the end, I hope he fails miserably.

I dont know, just a thought...Portis has been in the NFL only 4 years, Moss only 5 years...if Campbell becomes a good player, they'll be strong for a long time, as long as they can afford it.
At least its looking like they can't...
Oh yeah, I guess I was wrong. I was under the false pretence that the Redskins have a young defense. Just looked to find out that I am horribly wrong...

Campbell has not played one down in the NFL and you already deemed him a failure. Believe me, I don't wish success on any Redskin but how can you sum up his career before it even gets started. Using that theory, I could have said that Ryan Leaf will light up the NFL for years to come based upon his measurables and college stats. Also, that Tom Brady was pretty mediocre at Michigan, he won't ever become a starter much less a star in this league.

He struggled in college until his 5th year Sr. season when he was put with a very good OC, Al Borges, who simplified the offense and made things much easier for him.
I never understood the fascination with him, (trading up to pick him in the 1st round), but I also never believed Aaron Brooks would take an NFL snap so what do I know? Joe Gibbs may see something the rest of us don't see, but will Gibbs be around long enough to help develop Campbell?
I will say this on his behalf, he is a good character kid, who never complained during the first 3 seasons he played when things were pretty rough at times.
He was considered a leader on that 13-0 Auburn team. That distinguishes him from dope-head, QC, in a BIG way. So I don't think that comparison is valid.
