Parcells always looking for a TE
TE Leonard Pope, a 6-foot-8 receiving tight end who is extremely athletic. Look for a lot of talk about them as it gets closer to draft time!
Do we take a chance on this guy? Not sure how good he could block being that tall......the run blocking is done better by players who can get low.

If he's the best player on the board when we pick, I'd have no problem.
That said, I'd guess the best player on the board could likely be LB or OL, as this draft appears to be esp. strong in those areas - which fortunately matches our needs.

If you're looking TE that high, he damn sure better be a playmaker. Considering how much Witten was overlooked this year, I doubt another TE would really improve the team that much.

I think another TE would improve the team. Especially if said TE is good at blocking and is a receiving threat. I mean if Campbell had was any type of threat it would open things up for Witten and company even more. And since Parcells is a fan of the two tight end set it could help alot.

I don't see Dallas taking a TE any where in Day 1 of the draft.

Too tall -- I'd think a guy who is a combo FB/TE type -- or just a good receiving FB would be more our interest

I don't think Witten was overlooked so much as he had to be kept in to help with the protection.
When he got out into the pattern he got his fair share of passes, although I agree with those who say he should have been utililzed more in the Red Zone.
Man, a 6'8" TE would be a hell of a target. Not many LBs with great leaping ability....

If Campbell is not resigned then I could see a TE drafted on the first day.

Pope is 6-7 and a stud.
Go to draft board as there is many a discussion on him and yes. Parcells will accumulate a TE this draft to add to our weapons.....

Only thing is Pope is TOO good for us right now.
In other words he will be gone before they consider taking a TE IMO.
Of course witten fell on his draft day so anything is possible if he falls far enough.

David Thomas in the latter rds would be a good pick IMO. He seems alot like JWitt to me.

No, he is more of Chris Cooley type of TE/Half Back. So he is more in the mold of Redskins TE.

we need a 2nd TE who's a good blocker, so we can effectively run a 2-TE formation
throw Pope, or a high-round, receiving great, out of the window
