As for being a pioneer, what exactly was he the first black QB to do? I can't think of a single significant accomplishment.

I wouldn't go with off-field issues as a way of supporting him, not guilty isn't the same as innocent.

The only legitimate argument that anyone's made that Moon deserves in is that Fouts made it, but pointing to bad examples doesn't strengthen one's position. Just because some undeserving players made the hall (Fouts, Stallworth, Swann..etc..) doesn't mean others should make it.

If one wants to make that argument, George Seifert and Barry Switzer should be getting in if Madden did.

I agree, but this also means that Drew and Vinnie should go in on sheer numbers that thay put up. Especially VT even thought he played on very bad teams at the beginning.

When is Emmitt eligible for the HOF? I know it can't be that far away, I would love to see those guys go in together.

Doug Flutie may be next pioneer to get in.

Overcame being short, shunned by NFL and banished to CFL, only to overcome that and make it back to America again.

Also his drop kick was a significant accomplishment.

You're right. Flutie was also discriminated by the NFL. That got me thinking, if only it had lasted a couple more seasons, who knows how many XFL Championships T-Gun Maddox coulda rode into the HOF.

Actually, and I'm not 100% on this so don't quote me, I'm pretty sure each Canadian team is only allowed like 3 americans on each of their teams. Or maybe it used to be like that but isn't anymore.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the top High School team in the nation could play with one of their teams.

This also is irrelevant. Steve Walsh beat some credible defenses. So did Quincy Carter. Who cares? Again, I grew up watching Moon. He isn't worthy of being in the HoF.

And just to give you a guage of how well I think you'd have to play to be in the HoF, I don't believe Steve Young is a HoFer either. The guy was a system QB that had the greatest WR in history to throw to. The fact that he was a first ballot HoFer and Irvin still isn't in is mind boggling.
