Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, reports Minnesota Vikings PK Ryan Longwell signed a five-year contract with base salaries of $710,000 (2006), $820,000 (2007), $1.62 million (2008), $1.85 million (2009), and $1.5 million (2010). There's got to be a signing bonus in addition to this, no?

If this is the guy BP & JJ had targeted, I cannot imagine that they wouldn't ante up to this deal (unless Ryan didn't want to come here in the first place).

it was reported as a 5yr, 10 mil deal...so he must have gotten 3 mils or so signing bonus...600k a yr in addition to the salary qould about equal the cap charge...they got him pretty cheap
