How ironic is it that Quincy has a Super Bowl ring--while TO doesn't?
Steelers Sign Veteran Wide Receiver Quincy Morgan and First-Year Defensive End Shaun Nua
The Steelers re-signed two more players today as they inked unrestricted free agent wide receiver Quincy Morgan and exclusive rights free agent defensive end Shaun Nua to contracts. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Morgan (6-1, 215), who will enter his second season with the Steelers and sixth in the NFL, was signed by Pittsburgh prior to the first regular-season game in 2005. He was originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second round (33rd overall) in the 2001 NFL Draft before being traded to the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 19, 2004.
Morgan finished the 2005 regular season with nine catches for 150 yards with two touchdowns. He was also one of the Steelers' two kick returners as he totaled 23 returns for 583 yards (25.3 avg.), which ranked fifth in the AFC. Morgan was placed on Reserved/Injured list on Jan. 10 after suffering an ankle injury on a kick return in the AFC Wild Card Game at Cincinnati.
Nua (6-5, 280) was the Steelers first of two seventh-round selections (228th overall) in the 2005 NFL Draft. He was signed to the practice squad following training camp and was then promoted to the active roster on Nov. 23, but did not see action in any games.
