Listen to the Draft on 1310 The Ticket
For those Cowboys fans who dont live in the Metroplex, I encourage you to listen to portions of the draft (online) on our local sports station 1310AM The Ticket.
They are the only local sports station in the nation that carries all 7 rounds. They do a pretty good job on prospect analysis and discussion.
I'm sure most will watch it on ESPN, but if you want to hear more in depth conversation about the Cowboys picks.... http://www.theticket.com/ ....... is the place to be.

I agree.....Ive been studying in Europe these past two years so I have only been able to listen to the online stream. They do a great job on covering the draft from a Cowboys perspective.

Norm is absolutely the best in draft coverage, and he's tireless. He will be there for every step and every pick, and I would really tune in to the ticket and watch the live coverage on ESPN or record it.

Still a good Cowboys-centered broadcast. I'll be listening.

No other media outlet, in any form, can touch the Ticket's coverage of the draft. That's the one good thing I can say about 1310. It is outstanding.

I've listen for the last few years and Norm does an awesome job with the draft. It's pretty much required listening for any die hard Cowboys fan.

Absolutely agree. Mute the TV and listen to the ticket.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

That's exactly what I do. I only turn the sound on the tv during the Ticket's commercial breaks.

Now that the Ticket is the official Cowboys flagship station, they are promising even more insider coverage of the team this draft.

I rag on the ticket a great deal but they really do a great job during the draft.
Norm is a tad annoying when he starts panting and slobbering over some picks but he really is like the energizer bunny and has a good amount of good info.
Sometimes just before picks norm or one of his guests will let the cat out of the bag and give you the indication of the next player taken, don't know if it is a good educated guess or if someone from the cowboys gives them a heads up right before the pick.
Either way for those that have not gotten a chance to listen before it really is worth it.
I usually listen to the ticket and have espn on the background. I might turn up espn just as the dallas pick is made to hear what they say, and normally it is just a blurb and then turn the volume back down and listen to the tickets coverage as they go in deeper detail about the pick.

I agree and also have been listening to Norm's draft coverage the past 2-3 years. I can't stand the local coverage here in new england...so the ticket online provides me with my cowboy fix.
Now that I have Sirius, I'm also interested to see how the NFL channel's coverage will be.

Wow, Norm just gave out what the Ticket is going to do for draft coverage. They negotiated these terms with the Cowboys as part of their flagship station deal.
Quote:
We will have the identity of the Cowboy pick before its announced by the commissioner. They will send it to us before they send it to the podium.
An exclusive interview with every pick each day.
When the Cowboys have selected a player, Jerry and Bill get on the phone and call the player to let him know they are selecting him … the Cowboys will record that conversation and give it to us to put on the air.
Every pick, we’ll have the Cowboys position coach or the scout that responsible for analyzing him to give his input.
At the end of each day, Jeff Ireland will come on to talk and take calls from listeners.
We’ll get Jerry Jones for an exclusive interview before he even does his usual press conference.

I would be very interested to hear most of that.
