Another thing that gives Lawson the edge is size of program he played for and against

IMO, you could say the exact same thing about demarcus ware.
i like the consistency of howard combined with his speed. the frame is big enough you could pack a few pounds on with S&C program. he's a much better value pick in the 2nd than lawson is in the 1st. i don't see how anybody can argue that point.
howard is a football player. i worry that lawson is a "workout wonder".
howard excelled without the supporting cast. lawson played "abbott" to mario williams' "costello". that act don't play in the bigs.
we'll see...

You could say it but it doesn't mean it would be true. Ware and Howard are completely different players coming out of the draft. Ware was a hands down DE coming out. Howard is a SS converting to OLB. It's different. If you have watched Howard, the you know that he has issues freeing up on the pass rush when he's locked up. His hips are pretty narrow. For him to play at 250/260 is going to be tough for him IMO. I don't love Lawson at 1 either. I would rather have Wembley so your point is mute IMO on him. However, if Lawson is the pick, you match him with Ware and his act will play very well in the NFL, IMO. The thing it will do is create balanced lines for opposing offenses. If Lawson is the pick, he will be fine. I don't think Thomas will work in a 34 but time will tell. I do like the idea of taking a LB lower but I would not be so sure the Howard might not be a 1st round pick. Lots of teams like this player.

Hi guys,
A couple of weeks ago I had a dream about the draft, and the only thing I can remember is that we chose Thomas Howard.
I kind of want it to happen so I can say "wow, a dream came true", but really I would rather Wimbley, Lawson or Carpenter.
