True but, I keep thinking about Parcells' comment about passing on a great center during one of his drafts, and he went on to regret it. Or something to that effect. My point is... yes, we have Johnson(drafted by BP) and G but, a great center would not hurt. But hey what do I know I'm just a fan...

I wouldn't complain and I'd be much happier with Holmes than another LB.
My original point was that the board would explode, and the coaching staff would be goats.

Whether or not we pick a WR at 18 is obviously an interesting debate.

Personally, I believe that a Santonio Holmes-type talent will be available at a much lower pick in next year's draft (which is another way of saying that I do not think the WR talent pool will be as thin next year).

I do not share the view that WRs (especially first round WRs) always need time to develop. Like RBs, they can make an immediate impact in their rookie year. So, I would wait until next year to draft a high-round WR.

I'm also guessing that the Cowboys have probably weighted Lawson, Bunkley, and Justice moreso than Holmes because the impact could be more immediate at those positions (much more likely to see playing time this year, if you agree that Crayton is a solid 3rd down WR).

I can't see us passing on Lawson, Bunkley and Justice for a WR.

Bunkley, although I'd rather see us take one of carpenter/lawson/wimbley, would be a very good DL for us. He is a monster and would form a very, very good duo with Ferguson. Bring Bunkley in about the middle of the 2nd quarter and he'd beat the center up badly.

I wouldn't complain at all with Bunkley. I would with Santonio Holmes though.

Exactly. I like Holmes, but Jackson seems to have more upside.

The interesting thing is Dr Z had Bobby Carpenter going at 14, which quite a number of the membership has said that 18 was too soon. Guess since its the Eagles that nobody cares if they reach. What really is the difference in Carpenter at 18 compared to say... 21??

You think Hostile's tantrum over Steven Jackson 2 years ago was a trip? This board would explode!

That's OK, those of us of the mentality that you don't take a LBer in a LBer HEAVY draft but rather take a WR in a WR WEAK year will hold the fort together.

This is the same type of attutide that was about when they traded down to pick up an extra pick took JJ and it set the table for getting Spears

People over reacted then and will again

Perhaps that's why Dr. Z has him going 3 spots ahead of our pick.
