Default how exactly does Burnett fit?

isnt Burnett a SOLB? we drafted him pretty high last year, although he was a rookie last year, and often injured, isnt he projected to be our outside linebacker opposite of Ware.

Matt Mosley said the Cowboys will move him to the middle to compete.

If we do indeed draft a pass rushing OLB in the first two rounds, I think he will replace Bradie James if he leaves next year.

he was an OLBer out of Tennessee, but I don't think Dallas really thought he had the pass rush skills required in the 3-4 OLBer position.

He was a good run stopper and quick backside LBer with some ability to drop into coverage. In our schemes, that's the description on an ILBer. In college, he did rush the passer, but at the NFL level, being a pass rushing LBer means speed on the edges.

I think if he's healthy, he is a starting ILBer for us and Singleton is gone. I suspect we will see both ILBer's and OLBers heavy in our 1st 3 picks over the weekend.

I'm not sure we take one at 18, but there after, yes, several will be selected.

From my understanding, they discussed moving Burnett to the inside because of the Dat situation last year. They had to change the original plan to move him inside during the offseason due to his injury. Then they went out and signed Akin, and moved him inside.

I read somewhere that they believe that he can play either inside or outside, and that they would put him @ which ever position they need him. He has the size and speed to play SOLB, but could play inside as well.

Either way, the injury has forced them to hold off on putting him anywhere till after the draft. From what I have heard (rumors), they do not feel they have to reach for an OLB, nor an ILB. The feel like they can take the BPA (at positions they fell they need them), and still get by with what they have.
