Some of these guys come around every blue moon.

I haven't seen a team trade 2 1sts to move up to select a RB in my lifetime, and don't foresee it, teams are very value-stricken nowadays

I'd still say no
Michael Bush is a very talented runner in his own right too, and if noone steps up at RB, we could be in a very good position to draft him in the middle of the 1st w/o giving up anymore picks
|
I don't believe he would flat out suck but I do believe he could have issues with his health. Lets say he misses substantial time again this year because of injury.
Bush is a good back, no question but he's not Peterson IMO. Yes, I think your right in the fact that if he's that much better, he will cost but I don't know that he would cost two 1st round picks. I doubt he would be cheap but I don't think he would cost what a QB would cost. If he could have the imparct of an LT or an Alexander, that could be a very valuable thing indeed. I look at our team and outside of QB and WR, I really don't see much need for impact players. Our OL his getting younger and hopefully better. Our defense is young. Where are we going to need talent in the coming years? I think that if he is all I think he is, I'd probably pull the trigger on a trade. I guess I just think that much of Peterson.

I did not mention anything about trading 2 #1's picks. Dallas got Dorsett by giving up their 1st rd pick 3 seconds as well as some players. The deal worked out great for Dallas. Again what I'm getting at is the notion that well because you can get a back later there is no reason to make a deal to get what they may see as a once in a life time player.

ah, gotcha, but I dont' feel as highly of AD as y'all do, I don't think he'll approach Tony D, or any HOF back

I don't really feel that way about AD as of yet. His 1st year at OU was outstanding, his 2nd year he was injured in the 1st game and played with nagging injuries all last season so it is hard to know. Should he come out this year and match his 1st season or better then I think he would be worth trying to get if possible.

You know, he still rushed for over 1100 yards, 5.03 YPC and 14 TDS last year. That's being injured from day one, basically missing 4 games and playing in an offense that lost it's QB and WRs to the NFL.
In two years, this kid has done the following.
559 carries, 3033 yards, 29 TDs and an average of 5.43 YPC. That's not too bad.

I agree and I'm a Longhorns fan myself so I don't say this with some deep love for the guy. Last year was still a difficult year for him and limited him in things he could do. It should be interesting to see what he will do this season. One thing for sure he has good speed, very good cutting ability and can run with power as well.

You said it Dooms. This kid broke my heart.
Here's a link to his site. Granted, it's a player site so your going to see a lot of stuff that's going to make him look good and not a great deal of negative but just take a good look at those clips. Notice how he does run away from defenses. You don't see him get pulled down from behind a lot. He does run with power and he does have the ability to cut. I try to compare him with other guys and I just have a hard time finding anybody to do that with except maybe one.

I'm an Okie,,, Sooner Fan thru and thru,,, While I love the power and excitement Peterson brings, his lack of "vision" or inability to pick out suitable running lanes drives me to distraction. Hopefully this year he will improve on that deficiency,,, if he does, he will be one HELL of an NFL RB. I wouldn't hesitate to move up and draft him.
I've seen the Sooner spring-game this year and it looks like he will be catching a lot of passes to get him into the open-field,,, I've got to say that I was pretty impressed at his pass catching, it looked effortless!

He's worth alot...
but he'll easily be the 1st pick off the board making him extremely expensive.
Unless of course we tank the whole season to get him.

It would cost but he's amazing when he's right.

Yes I would.

after we win the superbowl this year we will not be in position to get this bad mother..........
but we will have a lombardi trophy.
if we don't win the superbowl however........
we must do whatever we can to land either quinn or peterson..

ya, let's maybe step back into reality and out of maddenworld. It would probably take like 3 first rders to trade up to top 1 or 2 or 3 picks. so ya obviously this isnt happening.
