I watched both games and I honestly saw nothing wrong with his delivery.
I mentioned this after the Houston game. Henson's motion and delivery looked fine when he made a natural drop and throw.
His side arm release comes when he is moving laterally or forward on the run. Think about the plays that stick out from that first game and there all while he is moving around in the pocket. I think it's just a matter of the plays that stuck out in our minds. In those plays, he did have a side arm delivery. I think if you watch the whole game, you'll see that his motion was fine.

John Elway never had perfect mechanics and QB's like Shuler and Leaf were mechanically sound, but who ended up in the HOF?
It's not how you throw the ball, It's where you throw the ball.
quote that.

You may be right ABQ...and maybe just seeing it stuck out more in that first game because he was on the move a tad more.

For the most part I have not either....Kosar did OK with his crazy throwing style.
However I was hearing that Henson was getting some tipped balls because his release point was low a couple of weeks ago in camp....However I have do not remember hearing those types of things this past week.
I think the kid is making progress by leaps and bounds.

So did it change some...or is it just me?

My question is, ... how does a hillbilly from WV get to see both Cowboys pre-season games ??
I am jealous.

I forget who posted it earlier, but someone predicted great leaps in his learning curve because he was practically a genius. Also try and remember that he left college in his Junior year so he is only 2 yrs older than a typical college passer coming to the nfl. He is still young by qb standards. Have a great day.

After watching Chad and Quincy for the last 3 years I can why some think Henson delivery looks strange he actually knows how to throw an accurate ball and has a compact throwing motions instead of a high over the top pass. It allows for a much quicker release and Henson has the arm strength to get the ball where it needs to be without the long arm motion

Myself I think growing up in a family where your dad has been a QB coach and a offensive cooridinator in the college ranks is what give Henson a big advantage over many others. Other guys in the NFl who had simular situations such as Elway and both Manning bothers it has shown in their games as well in how quickly they pick things up.

Charter Cable now offers the NFL Network channel.
Of course so far it has been game replays where I have had to record on Mondays and one of them I missed an hour of because of a NFL network schedule snafu.
How you been WV.
BTW I have heard that Darius Watts is pushing Ashley Leile (sp?) for the #2 starting WR spot along side Smith.

Dooms I think you hit the nail on the head. Passes thrown to the receivers that are catchable......What a beautiful sight.

Granted it is only pre-season and he has not thrown that many passes but his 75% completion rate has stood out to me. I still see things he needs to work on I think he hurries himself at times instead of looking down field but by and large I think as the game starts to slow down for him he will become an outstanding QB

Well...pack that jersey up and hide it away....then if Henson becomes a great player down the road...you will have a nice collectors item on your hands.
That or you could change the name on the back of the jersey to White and have to QB Jerseys.
