I think Greg Ellis is playing almost as well as Ware
I think Greg is playing almost as well as Ware ...... they looked like clones out there last night and think that if Ellis sticks around for a while they can take over games (after they both learn the position completley)
Great suprise
victory is ours

Maybe it was just me but...
I could swear that Ellis was getting held by Jansen A LOT toward the end of the game and it wasn't getting called. There was at least one play where it was VERY clear that Ellis' jersey was getting yanked (down around the ribs on his right side), yet no call...
He may think its more difficult, but IMO, he's playing the best ball I've seen him play

Don't see any reason why Ellis won't stick around since he's got about 3-4 more years left on his contract & Cowboys weren't willing part with him this year. Also his backup this year is Al Singleton whose in last year of his 4 year contract with us. The guy behind Singleton was Carpenter who was moved inside--but don't know if inside move was just an effort to get Carpenter some playing time this year/increase his versatility or make him a legit ILB. Anyway, assuming Singleton won't be back in 07, seems to me that means Burnett & Carpenter(?) would be competiting for #2 OLB behind Ellis (Burnett already Ware's backup). On the other hand, maybe Carpenter's destiny is to supplant Ayodale next year. That would tick me off only because I thought we used our first pick to pick up legit OLB. Oh well, it's too early to worry about that.

I like how they meet at the QB. If they keep it up it will start to remind me of the bet that Too Tall and Too mean had one year (Bet a case of beer, who would get more scaks), 4-3 bookends racing to the QB.
When will Ellis come out and actually say this was a good thing after all ?
Be excellent to each other....

We finally started switching up.
It was awesome. Ellis moving to the right ware moving to the left.
We had a lot of pressure on brunnell tonight. It gave him hoppy feet.
Now for tennessee.
Who will be 0-3 and hungry for a win...that is what parcells likes to call a trap game.

I really liked that they switched them around some, and Ware had that sack or pressure from the left side. Titans might be starting Vince Young by that week, so our defense should be able to take over.

Nobodys mentioned this in the thread, but Ellis is slowly turning into McGinest I love it!

Ellis is going to get exposed.....they did throw a few out there and he doesnt have the quickness to play the flat.
Ellis does play the run well....and he does get a push when rushing the passer....but he is a DE and I would just have him in the nickle package when we put 4 DL on the field.
Last nite....Washington used a vanilla offence....run....run...pass......I wouldnt put him even close to what Ware is as a LB.

Exactly. Isn't the whole point of flagging a hold to penalize them for illegally slowing the player down?
That HAD to have been a botched call.
