From what I recall, Seahawks had a very porous run defense in 2002. It was one of Emmitt's two or three hundred yard performances that year.

That is exactly what we need....a run stuffer. We already have a pass rush specialist at DT in Glover. What we need is a big body next to Glover who can stop the run.

And according to Glover....what we really need is someone who knows thier assignments. A veteran like Eaton probably knows where he is supposed to be on any given play.

I would more than happy to get another DT in here as far as taking snaps away from some younger guy all I can say is if you’re playing good football you will get more snaps if you don't you not going to be around any ways. After all we are running a football team who is looking to win not an audition for sometime down the road on a player who may or may not be the player we need. Seem some fans want to look 1 or 2 years down the road and Parcells is looking for right now as well as down the road.

MRI him and if his knee is up to muster put Smith or Brooks on the practice squad. Taking snaps away from a crappy player is always a good thing. Age matters not if you cannot play.

If he can hold up at he point of attack I am all for it.

I don't see this as a bad move at all.

It is not like we will give him a ton of money and to me, experience is severly lacking behind our starters.

We needed to add veteran depth to the position. Eaton is also a big body who will help sure up the middle of our line.

There is no downside to this move.

Eaton was some player in his prime. In NE, his versatility was special, and it was not unusual to see him either gaining or losing 30 pounds in an offseason at the request of his HC. There was no weight problem on his end, just the demands of playing 3-4 or 4-3 dt. He was a press and fan favorite up here, for good reason.

When the Seahawks released him, they made a point of saying it was not an injury related move, but a cap consideration. But it came across as protesting too much.

How many snaps he's needed for and how many he can hold up to will probably decide his fate.
