What is up with Marcus Coleman?
Is he still on the team? I know he was suspended for drug violations, but did the Cowboys decide to keep him? Also, someone please clarify whether it was a four game suspension or a four week suspension.

wouldn't surprise me if he's cut once he comes back off suspension. it's not like we've needed him.

Its a four game suspension. And he is still on the roster. But will probably be cut when he is reactivated from suspension.
I just don't know who Parcells is going to remove off an already difficult roster to manage. Do you really think Parcells liked sitting Bobby Carpenter? And obviously he didn't want to sit Oliver Hoyte. So who does he take off the 53 man roster let alone the 45

The bottom, man.

I believe we kept him on the roster so that he could serve his suspension. If we had cut him then any team he signed with would have to wait 4 games after his signing for him to finish the suspension -- realisitically, if we cut him his career would be done since few teams looking for safety help would be interested in a guy they would need to wait a month for.

Good point. I never thought he would finish the season here anyway. IMO he was brought in only as insurance for our rookie FS. I believed he would be cut as soon as Parcells was comfortable with whomever we drafted to start at FS, in the case, Patrick Watkins.

I think he would have been cut had he not had the suspension -- it is a classy move by the team to let him serve the suspension -- this way he has some shot at being employed somewhere else.

I don't think Parcells gives a hoot about this guy's career now. Bill took a chance on him, and was rewarded with a substance abuse issue. Coleman needs to decide what he wants to do with the rest of his life, snort or play sports.

actually if that was the case then the team would have cut him. Bill knew coming in that Coleman had issues with alcohol -- it is just plain ignorant to expect that someone with alcohol issues isn't going to have a relapse at some point.
