ESPN and Yahoo blame Vandy
I hate Vandy like poison, but this is a little harsh. Did they not see the missed block? It wasn't a matter of "ball elevation."
Yahoo
Dallas Dallas Cowboys (4-4) – That had to be one of the most frustrating losses of coach Bill Parcells' career. And when can we start calling kicker Mike Vanderjagt one of the biggest free agent busts ever?
ESPN
Think Bill Parcells had much to say to Mike Vanderjagt on the plane ride home from D.C.?

if Vincent would have been blocked... it would have been blocked by someone else!!! that was a weak kick from a kicker afraid to miss a GWFG!!!

Wonderful sports reporting, i wonder if they noticed how cleanly Vincent came through and how he would have blocked a kick made by anyone.
Just further examples of how they are trying to create controversy in Dallas by taking a bad play by our blocking and a heads up play by vincent and blaming it on the kicker.
Though i am surprised that they aren't all trying to blame it on the celebration penalty, which is what a lot of NFL anaylsts i saw after the game were saying.
Bottom line is that i usually look at Dallascowboys.com people and the ticket to get their analysis, b/c i don't think national media will ever look at the real reasons we win or struggle, only whatever can sound like our team is falling apart.

I think that Parcells told Vandy..."give this game to Gibbs, he needs it more then we do...oh, and tell the line to let em in...and lets get out of here...there is more important games we will win...this is just practice...
Besides, T.O. and me are tired...and the team is sleeping too, on the field....!"
Then, end of game...! Just like that...broken plane ride going home...disgusted and can't be trusted...road trip...!
That will teach them!!!!

When the kick is blocked dang near right off the kicker's foot, it ain't the kickers fault.
Now it MAY have been blocked by someone else anyway, but we'll never know. And the fact remains Vincent would of blocked that regardless of how Vandy kicked it.

If Vincent would not have blocked it 3 other Skins would have.

I don't like Vandy's attitude, either -- I think he's a weirdo and way too cocky, especially about not caring about missing all those kicks in preseason.
But I have to tell you, for the first time in years, I now find myself actually expecting us to make the kick when he runs out there. So I'm very happy with Vandy.
And it's crazy to blame him for Troy Vincent almost blocking that kick with his belly button.

Yes Vandy is somewhat.....wierd..... but to hold him responsible for the blocked kick is very much a stretch.

and this is the kickers fault because..........(cricket sounds begin) I'm having a hard time understanding the "5 guys could have blocked the kick" theory and not find the fault with the line.

Just for fun, go ahead and compile a list of free agent busts bigger than Vandy. You'll find a whole lot more names deserving.
That was the line's fault. ESPN and Yahoo are morons.
